    Attended this hotel for a business conference. Everything is massive. The entrance area, the reception area, the dining room, the length of the corridor to the room. Room is a good size. Bed very comfortable. service was good. drinks tend to be expensive. There is a garden and swimming pool. Swimming in the sea is not permitted.

    I am currently staying at the Shangri-La Haikou and am typing my review from my very lovely sea-view room. The Shangri-La is the rightful #1 hotel in Haikou (and I have also stayed at the Hilton Haikou Meilan). The pool area and cabanas are so much fun...with gorgeous flowers, plants, landscaping and cabanas. Easy to relax for an entire day by their pools - and they also have natural hot springs. Love the Chinese restaurant and the dim sum at lunch...a bargain and hopping fresh shrimp dumplings. Their stand-alone restaurant Sirena has Canadian and French oysters on the half shell, great pizza and nice sea views with outdoor seating. Buffet restaurant Cafe Kool very nice. Rooms are gorgeous and the most comfortable shower I've had in a while. The front desk service could use some more senior people...they seemed a bit junior and inexperienced...this would be my only complaint. The front desk staff seemed a but overwhelmed and had difficulty answering questions (and I speak fluent Chinese); I think they were flustered by the Golden week crowds...but it would have been great to have a senior manager staffing the check-in desk. Almost forgot: super fast, free wi-fi in room...made my trip a delight.

    We arrived late at the hotel and were greeted Mark at the reception desk. Hotel lobby decoration is absolutely stunning with grand chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Room assigned was spacious, clean, comfortable and overlooking to the sea. Excellent services provided by the Horizon team - Elena, Lizzy, Miranda & Elaine. Relaxing by the pool is great with friendly staff on duty. Drinking water and towels were provided without asking the staff. Haikou Shangri La is the hotel to stay when visiting Haikou. Will surely return on our next stay.

    I had a short but very great time in this hotel.. Everyone was very professional, and speaks a good English. Breakfast is fantastic, it was good, fresh and the choice was unbelievable. The room was big, and I had nice view on the sea.. Two nights were pleasant..

    Excellent excellent customer service- I was impressed by the young and attentive team.
    My dad seemed to have never had enjoyed his sleep this much. Lovely outdoor movies for the kids! The fragrance of the hotel is still lingering.....Glad I came and stayed.
