• Nice staff, above normal Chinese standard room

  Everything is perfect, the room is neat, breakfast is so so, some staffs are hardly understand English, I have to speak Chinese to communicate, but all staffs are nice and have service-minded. However, they forget to clean our room in the last night, anyway when I call and inform this issue, cleaning staffs suddenly came to our room and making up everything in few minutes.

  The hotel rooms are very good and location perfect right in the middle of the city. But breakfast are for chinese people not for western countries. There is no bread, cheese or anything. we couldnt eat anything only we drink coffee. Also nobody can speak english just hotel manager speak a little english. I am quite suprised nobody can speak english all the city. We had eating problem in Guiyang until we find a Kuntucky fried chicken.

  My wife and I stayed in the Howard Johnson during the Eco forum global meeting earlier this month. A very comfortable stay. Nice, hard bed; well equipped bathroom, high-peed email connection through a cable. The restaurant serves good breakfast, with both Chinese and western choices. I discovered the swimming pool and gym, and had a good massage.
  The staff are wonderful, and go out-of-their-way to help, even if the English language skills are limited for some.
  The decor is not very modern, and this is not a design hotel, but a very good business hotel.

  The interior of the hotel is quite ok. The rooms are well acceptable. The English language capabilities of the staff of reception is quite good. The service of reception is very well. I do like the hotel as it is not first class stylish but very well for foreigners while still having a local Chinese flavor. The area is rather original Chinese flavor.

  Although the hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and the facilities adequate, the booking system is in need of some work. We booked a twin room and were given a king bed. Fortunately we are good friends!
  I would make sure when you book that you confirm your room requirement or you may end up sharing a bed with a work colleague!
  The mini bar in the first room was un-stocked and broken and the shower in our second room flooded the bathroom no matter how hard we tried to keep the water off the floor!
  The breakfast is international with an understandable bias to Asian cuisine. There is not a great selection of fresh fruit but the buffet was sufficiently diverse that everyone should be able to find something to eat. The toaster, however, took ten minutes to lightly warm the bread so I suggest the hotel buys a new one!
  Overall this is a reasonable hotel with very limited facilities but as it is in more remote part of China I would consider it a good option for anyone staying in Guiyang.
  Be aware that due to heavy traffic congestion, if you are there to attend an expo or conference at the exhibition centre, it takes between 40 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to get from the hotel to the venue!
