• Average Hyatt, but out of nowhere !

  Typical Hyatt hotel. Good only if you need to stay close to the congress center
  PRO
  Location: very close to the congress center, but out of nowhere. Downtown reachable by cab only
  Room: pretty clean and large
  Common spaces: a plus. Very nice and spacious
  Staff: very kind and helpful to give suggestions
  CONTRA:
  Location: Far from downtown but close to congress center
  Breakfast: well,very, very ordinary. Very few croissants, danish and muffins. Only two choices of jam. Two kinds of bread. Service ok
  Language: English is a problem "apart" people at the front desk
  Wifi: I understand, you are in China, ok there is no google access, but my God the speed is terrible. Worst than in other places in the city (i.e. hotels downtown and airport)

  Visited Hyatt regency Guiyang and was pleasantly surprised with the room comfort and food quality. Room service was prompt and I had the chicken in rice wine with fried rice. Yum. Service and follow up excellent with hotel cars available to avoid taxi antics...

• Comfortable stay

  Very nice and comfortable hotel. The breakfast buffet provides wide range of food. The restaurants at hotel are traditional and delicious too.
  Local restaurants are in walking distance although a bit far from the airport.
  Staff at the Hotel are very nice and helpful especially Stephen at front desk and Nina at regency club

• Spectacular building and very good dervice

  I arrived late but the check in process was efficient without incident. The room was huge with great view but good curtains to keep the light out. The only problem was the aircon control really made no difference except for fan speed. At least the window could be opened for some cooler air.
  The gym is large and well equipped though a bit of a hike from my room in the north tower but thats really no problem.
  Room cleaning and maintenance was faultless and unobtrusive.
  There are three eating options none of which cater for western palates but the area as a whole is not one where many westerners are seen ( it was a relief to get home and not be stared at in the street all the time). The cos tof the hotel eateries is quite high by Chinese standards but at least its safe. Guiyang as a whole would be a challenge for Westerners with no grasp of Mandarin. There are not really any sights in the local area though taxis are cheap. Nice park adjacent for walking and hotel gardens are magnificent!

  Guiyang is not where you would to find a world-class 5 star hotel that would be at home in Shanghai or Tokyo. It has a modern asian vibe and great care has gone into the design and built quality.
  The hotel is enormous, so be prepared to walk a bit to reach breakfast or the pool, but the newly created garden outside is very nice. It's sad that Guiyang has been leveling it's natural beauty, so that an artificial oasis is the best you can hope for, but it's a very nice touch and more typical of Japanese hotels.
  Rooms are large and comfortable, though the air conditioning was not on yet in March so the room was too warm even with the window open. Apparently it's a hotel-wide decision.
  Given where in the world you are, I found the staff very well trained and unfailingly helpful and charming. Their level of English was also much better than feared. This would be a compatible 5 star hotel in any tier 1 city.
  As mentioned by others, location is a bit eccentric, but since downtown Guiyang isn't exactly nice, it was a real pleasure to just hear birds in the morning as opposed to honking and traffic. Excellent on premise food largely makes up for this.
