• The Scenery is Gorgeous

  The scenery is worth the stay. It is 3 miles outside of town (5km, I think), but the hotel staff is willing to call a taxi for you if you want to go into town (30 yuan).
  
  You can actually walk to town if you are up to the hike.
  
  The hotel is in a fairly quiet area, although there are two other hotels close by so you might get some noise from the other properties. The first night we stayed, a celebration was going on until 11, the owner said it was from another property.
  
  The rules of the property say that the guests should be quiet from 11 p.m until 8 a.m. Personally, I think 9:30 or 10 p.m would be better, and even if you are in your room, you should remember there might be people next door who want to go to sleep earlier and not shout to each other.
  
  The property is surrounded by mountains. Unfortunately, the windows had too much moisture on them to see the sunrise, but I caught a gorgeous sunset my last night there.
  
  The hotel is up a long dirt road and the walkways are stones, which can become slippery especially when it rains.
  
  My friend and I hiked back from town one evening and I was surprised we were not covered with mosquitoes.
  
  If you can, stay in room B08, the view is amazing.
  
  As for the breakfast, they have a small Chinese buffet for 20 yuan a person, but I did not like it. Nothing was hot and I got there shortly after the food was put out.
  
  I did not have any other meals there, I often waited to go into town or eat elsewhere.
  
  The manager and staff speak decent English and are very helpful.
  
  I would recommend staying here and would likely stay again.
  
  Oh, if you do not have large or heavy luggage, you can catch the bus to Guilin at the bottom of the hill, on the same side of the road as the hotel.
  
  You can also catch the bus to other local towns too, across the street at the gas station.

• Great view from the mountain facing rooms

  The resort offers quite clean rooms furnished in Chinese style and an amazing view.
  
  The staff is very kind and helpful and I loved the home made food.
  Fresh ingredients and fresh chickens ... their chickens! Nice coffee. We loved the food so much we decided not to eat anywhere else.
  
  To go to the city you can take a taxi if you don't like to walk a bit the staff will help you. You can rent bicycles as well.
  
  We wanted a quite place with a good view and we got it.
  
  The bed is comfortable and the room is just perfect to relax.
  
  The price is cheap for the service and the room size, not mentioning the view
  
  If you want to save on the room and don't want to use a mountain front you can still enjoy the view from the terrace which is a common area with seats
  
  Definitely recommend this place

• A little far from everything

  The hotel is lovely, views are breathtaking, owners are very kind and helpful. They drove us the first day to the main road and helped with transportation and tickets the other days. We really enjoyed our staying, thanks a lot. The only difficulty was coming back on late evening when it's dark and we had to carry our bikes uphill through the forest. A bit scary, but the area seems to be safe.

  To be fair, we only saw this place in the evenings. The food from the restaurant that was brought to our room was excellent. The hallways are dark and cold. Stone and wood floors. I would've appreciated the stay much better had not our rooms be damp. The bedding was actually cold and damp. It had rained there a lot the day before and they left the windows slightly open. The humidity was off the charts and the temperatures were in the 40s and 50s. Hence, our room was cold and damp. It took a while for the heater to get the room warm enough to start removing the humidity. That's all i can say about this place.

• Wonderful Hotel away from the crowds

  Experience a wonderful hotel out of the city with superb views. Well run, peaceful, clean, comfortable, family run, good English speaking hosts who will make your stay so much more pleasurable than the international style hotel chains. We loved the local cuisine served in family room. A magnificent view from the terrace but you do need taxi or car to get to town.
