Excellent

Amstelveen, The Netherlands | Jul 29, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThis hotel is an oasis in a busy city. It is well located in the botanical gardens. Lush and green. Has all the amenities one needs and spacious rooms. The in-house restaurant is also quite okay. I’d come back here again, given the chance.
Only improvement point is to stock the “lounge” at the reception with more options for beverages and watch out for the smokers.
Otherwise perfect. -
An oasis
annlKildare
kildare | Jun 13, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe stayed here for 4 nights. With prior emails we arranged pick up and drop off. and 2 day tours with the hotel. pick up at the gate by buggy. Check in efficient. The room was large . Only 2 tea bags for use in the room. The bar did not open at night. The restaurant was hardly used by guests at night. There are any restaurants near the rear exit which is only a short walk. There are a number of ATMs not far from the main entrance. The gounds in the hotel as in the botanical gardens are a pleasure to walk in and so peaceful. There is a spectacular tea room in the grounds that was not in use. The tours organised were very good. 1 word of note if doing the Li River Cruise make sure you know what time your return is from Yongshou. We had a 5 hour wait. This hotel could be an exceptional hotel with a little bit more attention

Historical Style Hotel
MYWoon
Malaysia | Jun 7, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayStayed 1 night only on my last day in Guilin. The hotel is actually situated inside a botanical park where the locals go to relax and exercise there. As for foreigners there need to pay to go in and this park is very kept. Our tour bus are not allowed to enter the park instead they will use a buggy to pick us from the park entrance. Check In was efficient and they even upgraded our rooms without us asking. Room are spacious and the toilet are clean and had a bidget. The only problem was the room smell moldy and dam. Served varieties and good breakfast.
In between the park there is a shopping mall with supermarket which I find it convenient to do my last day shopping for the delicacies. There is also a restaurant next to this park entrance which served very nice chinese dishes with reasonable price. We enjoyed taking a walk to see those plants, fruits trees and flowers which are beautiful. Also the pond full of carp fishes. They do have a swimming pool, but is a small one and doesnt look that clean with the fallen leaves in it. -
Relaxing getaway in the heart of the city

May 27, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesExcellent service, decent English, ok breakfast, great rooms, and most importantly relaxing. The location in the botanical gardens is a welcome escape from the busy city. We stayed here on our way to and from the Long Ji rice terraces and it was a perfect way to break up the trip.

Noise and cigarette smoke a problem
Joan C
Melbourne, Victoria | May 25, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesI was attracted to this hotel by the photos on TripAdvisor. However, they do not tell the whole story. It's true that the hotel is physically very attractive, being built in Tang Dynasty garden style, and located within the lush and well manicured Botanical Garden of Guilin.
We arrived in a heavy rainstorm and tipped a porter to carry our luggage up to the third floor (there are no lifts). Unfortunately our room smelt of cigarettes, despite booking a non-smoking room. We knew the hotel was heavily booked and that the only alternative was to take a room on the ground floor: we therefore decided to stay in our allocated room and live with the balcony door open (there was a screen door to prevent insects from entering at night). We found an ashtray in a drawer in the room - I assume this was for the convenience of guests smoking on the balcony, but it was evident they also smoked in the room itself.
The other problem we experienced was the level of noise made by guests. We'd requested a quiet room: however, guests would congregate with their friends around the hotel's lake, bridge and pathways, sometimes as early as 6 am and also after darkness.
On the positive side, the hotel arranged for a driver to collect us from the airport, for a reasonable sum. His name was Jerry Weng and I recommend him highly if you're looking for a driver to take you out for the day - we went to Yangshuo. Jerry's English is excellent, he's very knowledgeable and has an engaging personality, plus a comfortable air conditioned car. His email is jerrytour@hotmail.com
