Winston Salem, North Carolina | Jul 31, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyMy experience at the Guilin Sheraton was similar to other reviews here...great location, great city, fun restaurants nearby, close to beautiful evening walks. The hotel though needs an infusion of enthusiasm, hospitality, and a facelift. The hotel seems sad and old like it has seen better days. Front desk staff act like they are doing you a favor by being there. We were re-directed away from the restaurant where we went for desert one evening. We were sent several floors up to a sad and abandoned room with stuffed toys at one end and a big-screen soccer game going on where I had to BEG for a spoon to use to eat my ice cream "it comes with a spoon" - the flat wooden sliver we used as kids. And no hazelnut ice cream like they had at the restaurant...only vanilla. Other deserts seemed as though they'd been around a while...stale and old like the hotel. Bottom line - stay there if you'll be mostly out and about enjoying the immediate surroundings and don't expect 5-star service.

Great place to stay; right on river, near many sights

Portland, Oregon | Jun 29, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyI stayed at this hotel in December 2017 and again in May 2018. The first room had a view of the courtyard and the 2nd room had a view of the river. I was very pleased with both rooms and found them clean and very comfortable. The hotel is right across the street from the river, and a block away from the night market. It is within a few of the Sun and Moon Pagodas and other sights. The staff were very kind and helpful. I would definately stay here again.

Nice room and location, horrible food

However this hotel does not look to offer the same quality as other Sheraton hotels I visited. Restaurant is not my favorite and breakfast was so dissapointing!

Good location, comfortable and good value

Singapore, Singapore | Jun 1, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayThe Sheraton at Guilin is ideally situated alongside the LiJiang river and attractions like the popular ZhenYang pedestrian street and Riyue Shangta lake. The room is slightly smaller than an average Chinese room but with good levels of cleanliness and maintenance. The bed is softer and more plush compared to typical Chinese hotels, and the floor is carpeted as well. The room card also acts as access to elevators which provides added security. The breakfast buffet is more suited to local tastes although there is a decent selection catering to a western palette. During peak times, do expect to have to share tables though. Although it doesn’t quite match the Sheraton standards in major cities, the price here is lower and offers very good value.

The Sheraton Guilin Hotel (Guilin Xilaideng Fandian) is 30 km (18.5 mi) from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, located in the city center at the West bank of the Li River, within walking distance of Elephant Trunk Hill and Fubo Hill.
This five-star deluxe city hotel boasts well-equipped rooms and suites with breathtaking views of the Li River and hotel garden. All rooms have individually-controlled heating and air-conditioning, international direct dial telephones, mini-bars, LCD flat-panel televisions, Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds and high-speed Internet access.
The hotel has four restaurants and bars providing a range of cuisine, from authentic Western and Oriental to local specialties. There are also ten multipurpose rooms that can cater to any meeting, conference or banquet for ten to 240 guests.
