• Not a bad hotel to stay.

  Quite a nice hotel to stay may be cost per room a bit expensive.The room is quite spacious which has 3 beds and can easily accomodate 3 adaults and 2 childrens.The good thing about Konggang hotel is that it provide shuttle service to and from Baiyun Gz intr' airport for free.
  I must say the manager and the staff are very helpfuf however it was hard to communicate with them cos they speak little english.Overall if you want to stay near to the airport Konggang hotel is the answer however you must be prepared to absorb the noise from the airplanes' engines landing at Baiyun Gz intr' airport cos Konggang hotel is under the planes' path.

  Bad weather cancelled our connecting flight to Shanghai so we were freaking out as there were a million people screaming and trying to sort out flights in the terminal. We thought we'd have to sleep in the airport until we were met by a security guard who took us to the free shuttle bus. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and understanding (even by Chinese standards) and we were given a reasonable rate for a last minute booking. It's old and daggy but the rooms are huge with all the facilities you'd need. It's not something I'd recommend for a holiday stay but in our time of need it was fine - plus, it made a great holiday story and we didn't have to sleep at the airport!

  Hotel Websites may mention it as 3 star or even more, but i feel its below 2 star.
  Rooms are very small and bed is not at all comfortable.
  Hotel offers free pick up and drop which is definitely helpful.
  Staff doesn't understand english much and you may have issues if you need something.
  Consider this only if you want to stay close to airport.

  Need I say more? Perhaps I should:
  1. I was on way to Pullman [airport] Hotel for overnight stop-over when told Pullman fully booked without reservation. In my naivety I believed the person; he was practically outside Pullman’s front door. I have since found out Pullman Hotel was not fully booked as friends arriving after me stayed without reservation.
  2. I allowed myself [again naïvely] to be taken to Guangdong Konggang Hotel.it was a BIG mistake; 880 Yuan for a deluxe room that has no resemblance to the “professional photos” shown. It was too late for me to back out; I needed shower, shave and sleep before my onward journey.
  The title of this report accurately reflects the room condition I found myself in. Unfortunately my camera was in “passed-through” hold luggage so I have no definitive proof of just how bad the room was.
  The ONLY good thing was they got me to the airport FOC on time for my onward flight.
  Suggestion: If Pullman [Airport] Hotel is genuinely fully booked ask them to use CTRIP to find an alternative hotel [7-day Inn, City Comfort Inn or something similar] because, even with additional taxi fares you will be far better off than staying in Konggang Hotel. I have learned the hard way from my naivety!

• Extreamly overpriced for what you get

  Missed my connecting flight at Guangzhou airport and being 2.00am. in the morning got badgered into taking a free shuttle bus (old and decrepit but friendly and helpful) to their hotel which they claimed was as good as any of the nearby 4 star hotels and much cheaper. My God, what a dump. The rooms were 2 to 3 times more expensive than hotels in central Guangzhou (I have been there 6 times and so know hotel prices) and very plain, basic and cheaply furnished with a bloody hard bed. It did have a bath "wonder of wonders" in a clear glass surrounded bathroom (kinky!!). The reception staff are arrogant and unfriendly with a take it or leave it attitude because they know that they have you between a rock and a hard place once you get there. After one night I moved to the Paco hotel in downtown (Tianhe district) Guangzhou, where I had stayed before and is a great and comfortable hotel at more than half the price, as well as being in the best area of Guangzhou. Avoid at all costs.
