I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Nice apartment

This is a 30 floor building along the Pearl River. My apartment on the 23rd had a splendid view on the river from an excellent double bed. There is a complete kitchen, with washing machine. Staff very friendly and helpfull. The surrounding quarter has some shops. Connection by taxi's, metro is a ten minute walk.
Nearby (5 minutes walk) is the Redtory, a former fish factory area with galeries, shops and restaurants. New Town of Guangzhou is not very far by car or metro.

  • Average hotel, good for business trips

The hotel is average, rooms are good, very little room service facilities, only a few of the staff knows english. But location is very close to Pazhou complex. Good if you are only going to use it for night stays.

  • The worst for international travellers..

I happen to reserve this place based during Canton Oct 2014. In my 15+ trips to Guangzhou I can confidently say this is the most unfriendly lodging of all, let me list me reasons:
    - No room service
    - No scope for ordering even drinking water in the room
    - No phone in the room
    - Off the 175 Channels not one is English
    - One small grocery store around 500 mts from the hotel is the only source of 'anything'
    - No taxis are willing to go here as this place seemed to be in some sort of residential suburb
    - I was refused my confirmed booking on Day 1 as they were fully booked, got moved to the most horrible place I have ever seen for a night, I had to take a taxi back here the nxt day to be told that the room is not ready but may occupy it !! Which I did as I had to leave for the fair.
    - Breakfast is served in the restaurant where the concept of refills in unknown
    - The restaurant is closed for lunch & dinner !!!
    - The staff are very friendly and willing to help but the lack of infrastructure is a big let down
    - Not a single eatery or bar anywhere in the vicinity of the hotel
Never go to this place as it is not meant for foreigners.

  • "Apartment" hotel
    vexed66
    Montreal | Nov 2, 2025 | Trip type: Business

I have been at this hotel for just under one month. I came to Guangzhou for the Canton Fair and to visit factories
I will start with the positives- I have a really nice view of the Pear River from my room on the 11th floor. The room is spacious and bright.
    Now the negatives:
The location sucks. While it is located across the river from the Pazhou Complex, home of the Canton fair, getting there is not as easy as one would imagine. Because the hotel is located south of the entrance to the bridge, taxis and shuttle busses have to double back a few km in heavy traffic to be able to cross the bridge. This adds 20 minutes to a half hour to the crossing. The same is true when returning from the fair.
Taxis have trouble finding the place. I have a card with the address on it and a rudimentary map but I have never come across a taxi that can easily find it. Very frustrating.
A taxi to Central Guangzhou is about 22-24 yuan, not expensive.
There is only one dumpling restaurant in the immediate area. There are a few grocery stores in the area as well as a few very expensive wine shops. If you are a beer drinker, you're in luck but if you're a wine drinker, buy it at your airport before you come to China because you won't find a decent bottle of wine under 35USD here.
The metro is located a good 15 minute walk from the hotel. The walk is dirty, dusty and loud, you are walking along a major traffic route. Be prepared to dodge motor cycles, bikes and other pedestrians on the sidewalks. Not unbearable but not fun either.
Most of the hotel staff does not speak English. Some of them speak broken english but many of them do not speak a word. Very frustrating, especially when you have a basic question. Have never once been smiled at or greeted when coming into the hotel.
Although the room is listed as an apartment equipped with a kitchen, there is not one spoon, not one fork, no glasses, no cups, no plates, no pots or pans...... nothing. Can not see the point of having an "apartment" if you cannot even make a cup of coffee unless you go out and buy cups, spoons, pots, etc. The store closest to the apartment sells all of these things but why they are not supplied is a mystery to me.
The bed is the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on in my life. There is absolutely no padding on the mattress, it is basically a piece of wood. I wish I was exaggerating. After the first night, I had to make a trip to Ikea to purchase a mattress pad that helped a bit.
I would also suggest bringing or buying your own towel. The towels are quite thin and not very absorbent at all. The diesel-scented fabric softener is not very appealing. No face cloths. No soap, no shampoo.
In one month, my room was cleaned four times. I have taken to putting my garbage in the hall and have them deal with it themselves. I have seen two massive cockroaches in the room.
The pool and gym are not free and the hours are not ideal for someone looking for a morning workout. I think the hours are 2PM (?)to 8PM with a half hour closed for dinner. Not exactly convenient if you are waking up at 3 AM because of jet-lag.
The "business center" has to be seen to be believed. Two guys smoking in a cement floored storeroom (old mattresses and broken furniture) will print a document for you but were not able to fax something for me.
I would strongly recommend staying in the Central Business District or the area of the Garden Hotel if you are coming to Guangzhou for business. There are many more restaurants and shops and things to do in these areas. I wish I would have known that before.
