nice place for family stay
abhinavghiya
Jaipur, India | Nov 6, 2025 | Trip type: Familyits located at a very proximal distance from famous panyu zoo , staff is courteous though they dont know much english and this could be a problem. property is very nice and clean. do consider as hotels inside park are very expensive and you can save lot by staying absolute out of park

Too bad about the staff...
WorkInk
Minsk, Belarus | Mar 11, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThe room was quite nice and we slept well. Be warned that the beds are kind of hard, but you really can't beat what you get for the price.
We had gone with some friends to the international circus, which is only about 15 minutes away from the hotel. It was very convenient since the hotel runs a shuttle service after the show to take you directly back to the hotel.
Breakfast was uneventful and served (horror) instant coffee. Luckily, there is a McDonalds about 20 minutes away by foot and they served me a decent cup of coffee.
Much like the earlier reviewer, the staff pushed us into getting "their" taxis that cost more than local ones. They said that their drivers, who are not affiliated with the hotel, are a better deal since the city does not have taxis. This, we found out, was a lie. Live and learn. -
kinda creepy

Manila, Philippines | Aug 18, 2025 | Trip type: Familywas shocked to see that it looks like a 3 star hotel, when it says that it's 4star. Was really disappointed looking at it.
We checked in here last monday, around 12:30am, cause it's wayyy cheaper than to stay in chimelong hotel, it took them a while for check in. ANd they dont even have anyone to help us with our luggages. the receptionist doesnt understand english, but she called someone to tlak to me instead.
The halway to the room was kinda creepy because of all the curtains , and even their ballroom looks creepy. We entered the room and the aircon was still off, so we opened it, but the whole night it didnt even get cold. So the following day we asked them to transfer us to another room when we get back from chimelong safari, but they said that they couldnt. They said we could only transfer in the morning , which was impossible cause we were already about to leave for chimelong with their free shuttle. To make the long story short they said they would just ask someone to check our aircon.
Breakfast was horrible better to eat somewhere else. They have free shuttle bus to chimelong park, and also free shuttle bus from the park. But better ask them clearly where to wait, we waited so long for the bus because it was late and we finished early. Also the card key wasnt working on the 2nd night we had to go down again to have it checked. -
DIRTY ROOM
HOZDUBAI
DUBAI-U.A.E. | Apr 22, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessJust a few minutes after we entered the room, we found a cockroach in the room, and then another! There were lots of mosquitoes in the room also!
We asked to change the room, and the staff were kind enough to help us with that. But all the room carpets were dirty and the rooms had a damp feeling so we were not fully satisfied even with the other room.
The safe had no operating instructions, and we had to call for assistance in order to operate it.
No major English channel. Surprisingly, no CNN or BBC!
They keep trying to get you private cars so they can make their commission. This is not expected of a 4 star hotel. -
Hotel staff was pushing me to hire a private van when I asked for a taxi
Business01
Hong Kong, China | Mar 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI asked the reception for a taxi and she referred me to the Concierge. I told the Concierge then that I need a taxi and he kept telling me the following reasons why I should hire the private van that he's recommending instead of a taxi:
1. Taxis are hard to find at that time of the day.
2. Vans are just the same as taxi so why should I bother hiring a taxi. (He kept asking me why I want a taxi instead of a private van -- so that he can refute my reasons for choosing a taxi, I suppose)
3. All his contacts are private vans, not taxis.
As a background, private vans in Guangzhou are usually package price, so you and the driver will talk and negotiate a price and he will bring you to your destination. The problem is, private vans are not regulated by the city government and if you don't know the rates and the distance to your destination, you will most probably be conned by the driver. I think the hotel staff wanted me to hire a private van because he has commission out of the fare that I negotiate with the driver. That is just my assumption. Although, whatever the reason is, he was lying, because I could see taxis passing by the main road in front of the hotel. The main road is about 50 meters away. I ended up requesting one of my colleagues to flag down a taxi (in less than 3 mintues) and we rode the taxi to our destination.
The most frustrating part is that I already told him I don't want a private van, and that I want a taxi, but he still won't do anything about getting a taxi for me.
The carpets in the room are already stained. Guests smoke on the hallway. I complained to the reception that people are smoking on the hallway, they told me that they cannot do anything about smoking on the hallway because smoking on the hallway is allowed. Of course, I requested for a non-smoking room. In China, they usually do a Non-Smoking Treatment before you check-in to a room that was occupied previously by a smoker. When the smell became too hard to tolerate, they sent the Housekeeping and the Housekeeping just insisted that there's no smoking smell.
Location is good, not much traffic to Poly World Trade Expo Convention Center and Canton Fair venues.
They have welcome drinks and snacks during Canton Fair in the afternoon after the fair. Breakfast is also good. (with Knorr seasoning available)
