  Stayed at Henry's for 8 nights.I got very good service.the staff were very helpful with only a minor language understanding,which is quite normal.I dined out so cannot comment on the restaurant.The room was immaculately cleaned every morning
  And i will always return when next in GZ.
  It's a bit far from the city centre if you're inclined to look up the night life.Close to the Int.Airport.

  Hotel is about 25 mins away from airport. Airport transfer was arranged, on time and polite. Have a bar that opens up to 12am and a thai restaurant within the hotel. Otherwise, my business partners and myself opted to walk down the road about 10mins to local chinese restaurants to eat. Clean rooms and air conditioning... Good enough.

  On our way back to India from the USA Jan this year , , we broke journey for an over night stay in Guangzhou . We wanted to stay as close to the Air port as possible as our flight the next day was early morning. Secondly , the hotel claimed to have English speaking staff. This is very essential as language is a huge problem in China.
  On both counts , the claim was a bit exaggerated. It took us full 30 minutes to reach the Hotel & English was spoken by one or two only - that too very haltingly. We had to strain to understand & make them understand. Having said that , I must place on record their ever - helpful & cooperative attitude. Despite our landing in the Hotel at about 0800 hrs , they made us comfortable & managed to give the room with in 30 - 40 mins. As we were to leave early morning next day , they readily accepted to give us breakfast in lieu of next day's entitled breakfast which we could'nt have taken. Very positive & helpful , indeed.
  The staff at the reception was very polite & despite language difficulty , our check in & out as also guidance & getting taxis etc , was faultless. The Hotel should , how ever , have some currency exchange facility , which is , otherwise , extremely bothersome & time -consuming in the banks.
  It is located in Huadu Distt of Guangzhou . At a limb , the city centre is nearly 40 m-50 mins away. Hence , if you are planning a sight - seeing or business trip to the city centre , it is not the right location.
  The Hotel itself is fairly new , distinct looking in good neighborhood. Eating places & shopping areas are not far . It has nice , restaurant & bar . The room is appointed with taste & caters for most needs- making the stay comfortable. Tariff is very reasonable. Yes , breakfast spread was adequate & preparation was good.
  Over all , its a neat & elegant hotel where we had a very comfortable over night stay. A warning about taxis at the Airport . Pre-book or better know the language. Have names & direction written in Chinese. Keep helpful tele Nos handy. Police does not help . Taxi drivers form a union & are out to extort ! Handle them firmly , authoritatively & insist on going by the meter. Be warned !!

• Not the best district

  Stayed two nights at this hotel. I was meant to stay 4 nights.
  The restaurant was bad I tried to order a chicken dish but there was no English spoken.
  The breakfast had no Western food and the area was dirty and old. I was the only Western face. The travel shop was great booking me a flight and only one lady on reception spoke English and she had to help the travel shop.
