Value for money
NazaSidek
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | May 17, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayWe booked a room for 2 nights at this hotel. It is quite cheap. Located just beside Pearl River, it is recommended that you take a taxi from nearest subway station which is Yuxieu. Not far from the hotel is a man made Shamian Island. The room is quite spacious, clean and neat. For Muslim, there is a Halal restaurant about three doors from the hotel. There is also a convenience store in front of the hotel. If you would like to go to Beijing Road, take a taxi and it will cost you just RMB10. Onelink Plaza is within walking distance. Staff is quite fluent in English and also very helpful.

Penang Island, Malaysia | Jun 25, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesI stayed in Jan 2013.
1. Room is average..
2. Bathroom amenities was not replenished during house-keeping.
3. Bed was hard..
4. Good location, wholesale market is within walking distance.
5. Food is easily accessible.
6. Nice view (at night) along the river.
7. 15 mins to metro.
8. Wifi is fast.
There's nothing much to complain compared to price paid for the room. -

Melbourne, Australia | Mar 9, 2025 | Trip type: Couplesbooked this place as its fairly central and a good price. Room had no windows, staff were not helpful and the place just felt generally unwelcoming. Felt kind of sleezy. Would definitely stay elsewhere if I'm ever in guangzhou again, would probably go a little further out and commute rather than stay here.

far from "Deluxe'

Chiang Mai, Thailand | Dec 31, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesXiDiWan is a basic hotel, the staff are polite and helpful but only one can speak English at Reception.
After 48 hrs of having to ask for hot water to be turned on, I read the riot act and pointed out that there were many things missing in the room which were advertised. Our room had no tub, no refrigerator, no safe and the smell of second hand smoke was most annoying..
We were transferred to another room on the top floor, a fridge supplied and advised that no room has a tub, contrary to their advertising. The exhaust fan in the new room works and no smoke creeping in.
The sole window is quite small, but is better than nothing.
The plus points are that the hot water in the new room works well, the reverse cycle heating is excellent. Internet could be faster, but is mostly OK.
What is NOT 'Deluxe' is that the mattresses are hard, a top sheet would have been nice, but the doona/duve was sufficient. A cupboard and/or a set of drawers would be better than the sole coat rack supplied, and having to live out of a suitcase for 11 days.
The metal fire escape passed our window, and it was somewhat noisy as staff clanged up and down.
Transport. Bus stops a short walk away, but a Chinese speaking friend is needed to work out their routes. Routes are on the internet in English. Nearest Metro station is Haizhou Square, a 15minute walk away.
