This seems to be pretty typical of a large chain “5 star” hotel in China - overwhelmingly large and to be honest, a bit garish with an over enthusiastic use of gold! But it’s designed for local tourists, not Western aesthetics :-)
The staff do try to accommodate and there were an equal number of Cantonese and English speakers.
The restaurant was decent though somewhat overpriced.
My gripe would be that the website alludes to Wanda Plaza being attached to the hotel...but instead, you have to exit the hotel & walk around the block. It’s only a short 5 min walk but at night, as a solo female traveller, it certainly didn’t appeal.

9 hour stop, good choice to refresh.

We had a nine hour stop in the area and decided to steal a few hours of sleep and it was a good choice we did. The drive to the hotel was about 100-130 Yuan each way and took approximately 30-40 minutes.

Check in was smooth and the porter was efficient in organising a taxi for the next morning.
The room was lovely, everything was clean and pleasantly arranged with some lovely pieces of fruit which help us to refresh.
We received our wake up call, and on checkout our breakfast boxes and the arranged taxi were ready to go.
There was no issue really, any language barrier was overcome with translation apps and the service was very efficient.

Would do again if I had the chance.

The location of Hilton Baiyun is not that convenience compared to all other Hilton hotels. But there is a quite few shopping mall nearby, with many Chinese restaurant.

Upon my check in, my room is upgraded to executive floor due to being diamond member, but the front office only identify me as a gold member, which is still fine.

In the executive lounge, the food they served during the afternoon tea period is actually quite good. They also serve few hot dish during happy hour. However we saw flys flying at there, one even landed to my cake. And I can’t feel welcomed in the lounge, they are not as warm as all other Hilton lounges I went.

The room is okay, just a very standard Hilton guest room. The hdmi for tv at he wall is not working. And I found that body wash is missing while I’m taking bath. They give me two shampoo instead. After that we call for it, the lady in the phone is polite but it takes some time for them to deliver.

I didn’t go to the pool, gym as well as the breakfast but my friends said food quality is not bad. What surprised me the most are those restaurants and activities nearby.

But honestly I didn’t see any warm staff during my stay.

Breakfast at the first floor was very good. Thank you for the Kimchi as well. Watermelon juice was very fresh. Poached eggs were good, too. Fresh fruits, especially mango was good. Honey and Waffles were good too. Staff members were kind.

Suite room upgrade was possible for the Diamond members after asking the availability. Suite amenity was good, too. Welcome fruits included banana, mango...which were good.

VIP guest manager - Cindy - greeted during the check out.

I didn't really go around the nearby area, but it was not impressive also there were few changes at the nearby areas.

As my room was opposite to the 9th floor club lounge, I only went there once.
