  I would like to share my experience staying at this hotel during 2nd week of March. We decided to stay in this particular hotel, which was located across from Vertical City Hotel, as we could not secure a lower rate during our stay. The hotel appeared to be fairly old but still well maintained (that was my impression before entering our room). We all (party of 3) arrived in the hotel past midnight (approx. 1:30 am) in the early morning that day.
  
  Check-in was extremely slow : It took forever for the male staff to check-in three of us. We arrived in the hotel and had to wait for 10 minutes before he started checking us in. It took him at least 35 minutes to complete checking us into 2 different rooms located in 13th floor. I could not even imagine how long it would take them to check in all hotel guests during a normal business hour.
  
  It's not really a good start particularly since the male staff could see three of us were extremely exhausted after taking such a long flight and had to spend few more hours queueing up for the taxi at the airport. When we entered our room, I immediately saw a hotel room designed during 90's or perhaps dated back as 80's. The room clearly had not been renovated for at least 20 years or more - I could easily tell from the carpet's condition but we had nothing to complain as we didn't want to spend another half an hour in the front desk area requesting for a room change.
  
  Communication was always difficult so this made it even harder to ask for a room change. To be honest, we all were stuck in this hotel for 8 nights and I didn't dare to imagine that as doing so would not give any benefit at all other than excessive stress. So, we started doing everything we could to enjoy our stay but it was proven to damn difficult.
  
  I couldn't dare to walk on the carpet as it was extremely filthy. I was relieved every time I stepped out of the room. Breakfast in the morning was always chaos. There were continuous flow of hotel guests coming in and out of the breakfast area but the employees were not working fast enough to clean up the table. Food quality was so so and there were not many decent things we could find to be consumed every morning.
  
  The only good thing about this hotel is its location : It is located above Changgang MRT Station and it is located right across from Vertical City Hotel. It has a good vicinity as you can find many shops and restaurants nearby. However, we found our favorite store nearby, Walmart, had been closed down on March 20.
  
  I am sorry to say that I don't even bother taking pictures of their room, a practice I normally do every time I stay in a hotel regardless of their status. Most likely, I won't return back staying at this hotel property unless they upgrade their hotel in the near future.

• Good location with metro very close

  Positives
  It is very centrally located and has a very convenient access to metro . The metro line is just 200 meters from the hotel .
  
  There an international cinema right accross the road and also the airport express bus has a stop 400 meters from the hotel making it very easy to be accessed .
  
  The rooms are big and spacious and the Aircon is strong for instant cooling .
  
  Swimming pool and gym area are good but I did not use either
  
  Lost of options to eat around the hotel . U can choose from Chinese cuisine to fast foods .
  
  Negatives
  
  Buffet breakfast has limited options if u do not eat Asian food .
  
  If u are looking for indian food then I will not find it anywhere within 25 minutes of travel in any direction
  
  Rooms interior were a little worn and I would recommend a upgrade atleast to the room in which I stayed .
  
  Staff has very limited English speaking ability and being an international hotel I expect a little more ( however Ur problem can be solved if u are using Google translate in Ur phone )
  
  Over all a good experience

  My standard room with a king size bed was reasonably comfortable. Bedding, pillows, and mattress quality are typical 3 to 3.75 star. Complimentary wifi is reasonably fast. Reasonable fitness centre on the fifth floor, and a nice outdoor swimming pool. Many of the staff members are fluent in Chinese and English. All staff I encountered were friendly, polite, attentive, and helpful.
  
  Excellent location, a few steps from Exit C2 of Changgang Metro (subway) Station. Also, very good location for those going to Sun Yat-sen University and the fabrics and accessories markets, both being two metro stops away. Being on Metro Line 2 makes it easy to go to the many wholesale markets, most being three to six Metro Stations away.
  
  Hotel is sold out for some nights of the Canton Fair, spring 2018 three weeks/phases. Rates at many hotels go up by two to three times, and more, when the Canton Fair is on.
  
  There are lots of restaurants in the area, and very safe for evening walks.
  
  Before I commence my trips, I take a photo of my destination names in both English and Chinese. Then enroute, I’ll ask for directions whenever I am concerned that I might not be going the right way.

  Stayed 5 nights while going to the Canton trade fair. Staff very friendly, shuttle to and from the trade fair was great. Room was only average and whole hotel smelled old. Carpets need replacement. Otherwise stay was ok, breakfasts were fair. Whloe hotel was very busy for the fair. Underground train station was right by the hotel and plenty of street food spots. Felt quite safe on the streets. Will try somewhere else a bit more modern next time.

  This is a relatively old property at the heart the city. The property is well maintained and close to a subway station. Commuting to various parts of the city is very convenient by subway. Close to various attractions of the city. Plenty of decent restaurants are nearby this property.
  Spacious rooms, decent amenities and internet. Breakfast was little below par but no complaints.
  Staff is well trained and courteous. Didn't had any problem in communicating. Offline version of google translate and subway map guide comes handy. Better download it before coming to china because google you tube Facebook viber and whatsapp all are banned here. Even v chat can't be activated easily even if you buy a local sim.
