There is little walking space, and the water is thick and sticky. Staff is kind, although they don´t fully understand engrish! XD

Perth, Australia | Jun 17, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStayed at the Grand Royal whilst going to a Trade Fair. The hotel is clean, staff are pleasant and breakfast is better than most. The and pastries need to go through the toaster to freshen up and the coffee isn't very good. Went to the lobby bar one night and the drinks were 105RMB (nearly $20 each). The beer was stale. Probably at this price it is not often bought. One small bottle of Tsing Tao beer was 55RMB. We bought 10 large bottle in the street for the same price. If you eat at the buffet go early otherwise you end up with very little for what you pay. Seems like one dish goes out and not replenished. For about $100 per night to stay I think there are probably many better hotels around and next time will try a different one.

benin city, nigeria | Oct 23, 2025My business partner and I were in Guangzhou for the fair. Both our first trip ever in China. We considered several hotels and ended up with Grand Royal Hotel; bu default. Boy were we pleasantly surprised.
Right from the lobby, we were shocked by the grand modern decor. Definitely a five star rating.
The rooms are beautiful and modern and clean. The pictures on TripAdvisor and Booking.com didnt do justice to the hotel. And the staff were very courteous and accomodating with their minimum knowledge of the English language. They were great.
The TV stations had adequate number of English channels to occupy your time.
We had a wonderful stay for 8 days and will definitely stay here whenever we are in town again.
I would suggest to the hotel management to engage the services of a professional photographer, who's pictures they sure update their old ones online with. People need to be aware of this hotel's beauty. -

I had to change my room the 1st night itself as the bathroom was smelling of used cloth to clean the bathroom
The buffet didn't hv much vegetarian choice so I requested if they can make fries so I hv something... It was a task to convince
On the good side, they offer shuttle to the fair. Also the #4 shuttle from
Airport drops opp the hotel so you don't hv to take a taxi which may cost RMB 500

The Grand Royal Hotel (Guangzhou Jiayi Huangguan Jiudian) is a ten-minute drive from Pazhou Convention & Exhibition Center and a short walk from Guangzhou Space Flight Spectacle and Grand World Scenic Park. The city ring expressway in front of the hotel leads to Guangzhou Science City, Gaotang Software Park. A regular shuttle bus takes guests to the airport.
