Shenzhen, China | Oct 1, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThe service staff are very good, rooms are ok; beds are great. The airport pick-up cost 650 RMB but is impeccable, with Wi-Fi and an iPad in the car. Note that the airport is 65 km away from the city, so arranging a pickup is a good idea.Check-in was efficient.
We experienced very loud noise in the room (10:30 PM) coming the city square as dancing aunties bring huge speakers that will disturb your rest. I checked when they would finish this noise and if this would start again the next day and was informed that mornings 5:30 AM they start again. Knowing that, I asked to change rooms, which was quickly arranged.
The gym is very good and has Life-Fitness equipment, good changing rooms and dry and wet saunas.
I was not impressed with the quality and assortment of the breakfast. There was not one meat dish served and most of the dim-sum steamer just contained the same dishes. The quality of the food itself was mediocre. Overall, I would recommend Shangri-La to bring their restaurant to a 5 star level as well.
The hotel has no bar but you can have cocktails in the lobby lounge while listening to a good band playing. -

The lounge is also a very pleasant place to meet our business clients. -

The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, well furnished with toiletries that would always be timeously refilled before finished. Staff were friendly and helpful. Its location was very near a big town square where there were lots of people dancing, singing, roller skating and chatting at evening time. It is very close an authentic Fuzhou (Foochow) restaurant that offers Foochow local dishes. However the food of the hotel restaurant was expectedly expensive but was unexpectedly not up to the standard acceptable by me of a five star hotel.

Staff were very helpful, and the hotel is as nice as any top flight property you'll find in the U.S. plus great customer service you'd expect in Asia. In the U.S. this would be a $450-600 a night hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast a was fabulous way to start the days. Full international buffet for whatever way you want to start the day. Cassie at the front desk was especially helpful. Thanks!

What more do you expect ? There was hardy anything which I could pin-point as not reasonably good, except the selection of free beverages in the room. They could provide better tea-sachets and more water bottles.
