Great Room but slow checkout

Today only one person on checkout and wait was 10 minutes. Was my fourth stay at hotel and all other aspects of the hotel are good. Convenience store nearby. Takes about one hour and 20 minutes from Guangzhou airport

Jan 7, 2026 | Trip type: FamilyThe facilities are in general pretty nice. Fancy decorations and clean environment in lobby and inside room, meeting the standard for a 5-star hotel.
Much room for improvement in service quality though.
Waitress knocked over a whole class of red wine on my mom during a friend’s wedding. Didn’t try to offer washing or was any helpful. Only bring out more tissues when asked to.
In general not much service was provided from the waitress for our table during the chinese wedding ceremony, which wasn’t commonly expected from a high-end brand chain hotel.
To be honest, if the waitress was much more helpful before and after the incident, I would probably just accept it was a careless mistake. But it was the quality of service in general that wasn’t meeting the expectation for the brand name. It was somewhat disappointing.
Other staff were leaning against the wall arms crossed as if they were off work in a bar and the event/performance was too boring for them (see it yourself in photo)
Maybe some trainings could be done, since Romada is a 5-star internationally known hotel after all. -

Very good hotel

Dec 6, 2025The hotel accommodations were excellent and comfortable and room service was timely and professional. However, most people at the front desk and hotel restaurants did not speak English at all or very little. Thus, communication was a constant problem. This was surprising for a 5-star hotel that was hosting an international scientific conference. Overall, I can recommend this hotel but suggest that they employ people who speak English if they want to attract international customers.
