The service is good and the room which I am typically using is well- furnished and clean. I find a large flower arrangement upon arrival and some fruits. The breakfast is oriented towards the majority of guests from Japan, but a Westerner can find it suitable, too.
It is a pity that the service in the lounge of business floor (10th) has been limited, now there is no guest any more.

Great Location, Friendly Staff

Dec 27, 2025The East is located across the street from Dalian party area of 5 Colour City and as such the location is within 3 minutes’ walk of the main shopping malls too. The hotel itself offer comfortable good size rooms. The maid service is good with an evening turn down service and the rooms are kept clean, the air conditioning is very good and with the change of temperature between summer and winter in Northern China. There is a large breakfast area and I found the breakfast good but the choices never seems to change much which can be a bore if you’re staying an while.
The staff and friendly and most of them speak English, which is not always the case in China.
One thing to remember is that in China smoking is still allowed in public places so if you are booking a room and are a non-smoker remember to book a no-smoking room, I couple of times I forgot this and was stuck in a smoking room. -

Dalian, China | Sep 13, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesIn Kaifaqu, your destination is Five Color City, but you like the big, new malls on Jinma Lu, the main street, and the hotels. Your favourite is the Dalian East Hotel, or the Dangfang Dasha. You gave it a great review on TripAdvisor. Dangfang Dasha is a Japanese style hotel that opened in 1994 and was redecorated in 2014. It has 275 rooms, a Japanese restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and a Western restaurant, a bar with hookahs called the Bohemian Club, a spa with a sauna and massage, a recreation room for majhong and simulated golf, a business centre and two floors, on top, with business suites. It is located near Wucaicheng Metro Station and Paotaishan Park, and, most importantly, it is right beside Five Color City.
