Only ok, good location
dee622
los angeles | Aug 2, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThe lobby has an overwhelming scent -- too powerful of a carpet cleaner or something. I stayed here twice and there are definitely newer and older rooms. The wifi is reliable and if your room's wifi isn't great, just connect to a neighboring room's since the password is the same. Breakfast buffet is ok. There is construction going on right now around the hotel so traffic around the hotel is very congested. It is in walking distance to a shopping area so that is convenient. My family had a banquet here and it was expensive relative to what you got. Food was ok.

Restful spot before the three gorges cruise

ann arbor, MI | Jul 26, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe flew in to Chongqing from a very hot and humid Hong Kong to be met by a very hot, humid and polluted Chongqing. Thus, it was lovely to be able to relax after an afternoon of sightseeing in an attractive hotel that had amenities at international standards. As is this case in much of China, there is not a lot of english; however, the staff, especially Sisi, tried very hard to please with what they had (and I must say the english here was better than our international hotel a few days later in Beijing). The rooms were spacious, had a nice view onto the city with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. The shower worked well as did the internet (although realize that the chinese government blocks google, facebook, twitter, dropbox and other sites). The breakfast was very good. For dinner the night before, we went to the adjacent shopping center as there are restaurants on the 6th and 7th floor. Sisi recommend a Sichuan restaurant and wrote on a paper an entire meal for us to order. The experience was great. There is also a cash machine in the lobby. I was actually surprised at the quality of the hotel for being in Chongqing.

Sydney, Australia | Jul 16, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesStayed here for 3 nights and apart from the position, had nothing going for it.The room was very ordinary for the price. The front desk staff need to undertake a course in public relations. We attempted to pay the bill with cash but the receptionist knocked back a note which had a crease in it.We sat in the coffee/bar area to relax and were told that unless we bought a drink we weren't allowed to sit there. One of the rudest and most unhelpful hotels I have ever stayed at.Chongqing is a massive megacity with hundreds of hotels.Do yourself a favour, stay somewhere else if your budget is around $100 per night!

Jun 19, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyStayed at this hotel for a week in june 2015. It is 17 years old this year, and it certanly looks that way. The staff are very kind and helpful, but the fact that very few, if any, of them speak English, pulls in the negative direction. The rooms, lobby and area around the hotel are clean and tidy. And it's right in the center of the new shopping area, with ceveral malls and fashionboutiques just a short stroll away... All in all an averidge hotel.

Christchurch, New Zealand | Jun 2, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelDecided to see a new part of China and picked Chongqing for no particular reason.
Decided on this hotel based on reviews vs price and overall very happy with my selection.
Check in and check out went smoothly but why do staff persist in talking to other guests when they come up and interrupt your conversation?
I know that this is not unique to this hotel and it is just a fact of life in China but I did expect a little more from an international hotel chain.
Room was large and clean with good views of the city if you like looking at other buildings but they were far enough away that you could see more than just a wall outside your window.
During my stay room service served complimentary fruit and a drink twice which I thought was a nice touch.
Overall a good choice and a very central location
