  short stint to Chongqing and our choice was the Jinjiang Oriental, got a wonderful room with modern room amenities and superb service. Food and beverages in the different restaurants are good and reasonably priced. Location: Far from most tourist sites, concierge services was good and helpful, overall services was good.

• Good business hotel northh the river

  I stayed 3 nights in this hotel. I had a street side room on the 12th floor. The street noise did not bother me. The Airco was good and not noisy. The bathroom was equiped with automatic light switches. The shower had a window till floor level, but there was a roll curtain for privacy.
  The internet was free of charge and worked fine, however you must expect a high speed.
  Inside the hotel is an ATM machine. The lobby was ok but not exceptional good. The hotel is close to a shopping mall. Behind the mall there is a small lake with some restaurants and pub with European beer.
  The breakfast is ok with a selection of fresh fruits and a combination of Western style food and Asian style.

• Good only if you have meetings with the city government

  This is a fairly new hotel with well-appointed rooms. Breakfast offering was poor for a 5 star, albeit local 5 star hotel. It is also located far away from the Jiefangbei CBD, and the nearest shopping available is the newly opened but pretty quiet Fortune Mall located just down the road. Check-in and check-out were also slow by 5 star standard.
  This hotel is highly recommended though to travelers who need to visit the municipal government agencies as the major departments are all located within a stone's throw away.

  I stayed here during my business trip for 4 nights in Aug'12. Overall the hotel is new and clean. Room is comfortable. It also comes with desktop (Hp brand) and neat work desk. Housekeeping and porter staffs are friendly. Hotel is situated at newly developed area of chongqing which is near to new offices around, also means a distant away from chongqing town.
  However, below are areas for improvement:
  - check-in is not smooth as some staff seem inexperienced
  - service staff at counter and restaurant are very uncomfortable to converse in english. Need to improve seeing that this hotel caters to mainly business travelers
  - WIFI coverage to include in room for hotel guests. Connection at lobby is weak.
  - food quality and variety to improve (western restaurant is ok to skip)
  - unable to provide daily english newspaper, again, need to improve if hotel is meant for business travelers. (weak excuse given by hotel staff instead of stating they do not have daily deliveries)

  This hotel is average at all levels: checking in very slow and long process, room amenities old and average quality. Towels are very old and over used. The lighting in the room is very disturbing at night as the control panel is complicated and one button activates many lights.
  The automatic light sensor in the bathroom takes long time to turn off and if turned off manually then other lights of the room turn on !
  The breakfast is poor, not a lot of selection available. The buffet and tables are very messy and the service is not at place.
  The staff is not smiling . The quality of food is very averages do the food taste is not appetizing at all !
