不错的住宿体验

Sep 29, 2025 | Trip type: Couples这家酒店位于宽巷子口,位置优越,建筑风格古朴,内部设施一流,服务人员也很热情,只有一些小细节做的还略有不足,不过对于一家国内酒店来说已经非常值得称赞了,推荐入住!

Most luxurious of Chengdu
Manwo
Aug 20, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesA good reprise from the hustle and bustle of Summer Chengdu. The rooms were comfy, large which I actually found hard to tear away from each morning. The staff were courteous and most helpful in all aspects.
I found sanctuary in the lobby lounge which was well stocked with a good range of alcohols and spirits including sakes and wines. The bands play from 9pm nightly and be entrailed with sonatas from French, English to mandarin favourites.
A must-stay should you need to be in chengdu and be in touch with sanity.
One comment... will be good if there were money exchange service in the hotel. Not too much to ask for from being an exclusive hotel with elites standards. -
An undiscovered gem in Chengdu
BertSingapore
Singapore | Jul 8, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelIn my seven nights in this hotel, the most remarkable thing I noticed was that I didn't see a single Western guest. This is not to say the hotel was empty; it was not. But the guests were mainly well-off mainlanders (because the hotel isn't at all cheap) on domestic holidays.
This was both a pity and a blessing. A pity, because the hotel surely deserves more exposure outside China, and a blessing, because it made the hotel seem somehow a bit of a hidden find.
In terms of its looks, the hotel is quite gorgeous. Apart from its splendid local architecture, the interiors were luxurious in an understated, relatively restrained manner, they having been designed by a Frenchman who was responsible for the Cartier boutiques worldwide, as well as the Hermes headquarters in the 8th Arrondissement in Paris.
Situated in what appears to be a restored courtyard mansion complex, the hotel isn't large, and hence, does not have things like a pool or large gym. For example, However, the fitness room only has treadmills and other cardio machines. No free weights or static resistance stations.
However, the rooms are large. The executive suite I stayed in was very spacious (about 800sq feet), well appointed and well equipped. Thoughtful amenities were provided, including some nice teas. The snacks provided were local and while I enjoyed them, they might not be to western tastes, being quite spicy and unabashedly Sichuanese.
The bathroom was particularly impressive, with a bathtub for two, double vanities, and a separate WC and shower, all done in a dazzling white marble. There were three TVs in the suite, including one set into the mirror above the bathtub so that you could soak and watch HBO while in the tub.
Service was prompt and attentive, although do bear in mind that English is not so widely spoken by the staff, including at reception. It's easier if you have even just a limited command of mandarin. That said, in the last few days of my stay, it appeared that the hotel had hired a number of western staff, who were more than happy to converse in English with me.
I liked that the staff were attentive without being too obsequious, and I was glad when on the one occasion that I wasn't able to quickly flag down a cab in front of the hotel, the manager came out and offered to do so for me, while I waited in the air-conditioned, book filled reception lobby. They were never anything less than pleasant and professional with me.
The hotel is also located in a quite interesting restored precinct, which I was told was a complex that was built for the Qing dynasty mandarins who had then just taken over from the fallen Ming dynasty. The three or four streets (Kuan alley) around the hotel are quite 'commercial', in the sense that they are obviously well frequented by locals and mainly domestic tourists. Some would describe it 'touristy' but it is very bustling at night and there is a festive air that I found pleasant and quite charming. In the early morning, if you walk around it and streets are empty, it can also be quite atmospheric.
Don't worry about the hotel being out of the way. It's not. Being situated within the city's first ring road, its like being in Zone 1 in London. I never had to take a taxi ride more than 15-20 mins to any of the major sites within Chengdu, except for the Panda Reserve. Of course, the day trip sites like the Leshan Buddhas are further afield, and most likely you would have to sign up for a day tour or get the hotel to arrange a car and driver.
As for the costs of travel - I seldom had to pay more than 20 RMB for these taxi rides. That's like US$4, which is a quite trifling sum compared to anywhere in Europe or Japan etc. The hotel also has this card which lists down its and most of the major tourist site addresses written in English and Mandarin, which you can just show to the taxi driver. In my 8 days in Chengdu, they always brought me to the right place, and with the meter switched on without my asking.
The breakfast provided in the hotel was pretty decent, and had a choice of western and local offerings. The local food is better but I found the western dishes quite adequate, though the choices available aren't as extensive as can be had in international luxury chains like the St Regis or Four Seasons. The dining room overlooks the alleyway outside through some latticed screen doors and it's very pleasant to sit there and enjoy the setting while reading one's paper. The restaurant staff were never less than attentive.
I very much enjoyed my stay in the Diaoyutai Chengdu and I would recommend it to those who would enjoy a more interesting and locally flavoured hotel architecture, while still wanting a measure of luxury and good service. In, all, a delight. -
Very classy boutique

May 30, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe stayed here 3 nights & wished our stay was longer. Every detail in this hotel is well thought & executed. Our room had hardwood lumber floors & a huge bathroom. Staff are trained to perfection & very attentive. Our favorite spot is the lounge -- it looks likes a fusion of 1930's Shanghai with modern Chengdu style. It was our urban oasis to cool off from the humidity & heat.
