  I work for one of the nearby semiconductor manufacturing companies. We have found that you can stay in the Chengdu City Center and have a lot of things to do on the weekend, but have a long drive in the Chengdu traffic every morning and evening (45 min to an hour each way) to get to work.
  
  Though not a lot to see around Chengdu West, the food is great, the trip to work is short, and the City Center is only 100 RMB away (~$13 by Taxi). AND the hotel is great!!!. The buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner are great, have a wide variety, and are affordable. Should you choose to go out for dinner, the choices are many, varied, and low priced. There are several malls in the area that have well respected restaurants and I recommend a good Hot Pot house.
  
  All of the service people in the hotel were great and helped us find several restaurants and places to visit. They called Taxi's for us and told them where to take us and assisted with using the meter or not.
  
  The only thing that kept the score from being a 5 was the pool was being repaired and out of service the entire time we were there. It did not appear to have any workmen attending it the entire time we were there either. So not sure how ong it will be this way.

• Very accomodating staff

  I have stayed here at the Chengdu West Crowne plaza several times over the last few years (all work relatable trips)
  
  I found that on my more recent trip the staff were much more accommodating, very aware of English and being able to help and support guests with any issues. This hotel is used by a lot of people and many spaces are used for external hire such ad the ballrooms. It can get very busy and as a hotel guest you sometimes do not feel that you are perhaps the priority. (on night i was unable to dine at the garden restaurant and eat the buffet as t had been changed in accommodating a large company)
  
  However I must say that there are several members of staff who do go above and beyond and also recognize loyal and returning guests. Evelyn who works in the restaurants says good morning every day and knows what coffee drink I would like. She is very polite and ensure her guests have the best service.
  
  I also met and was introduced to CiCi Zhong (Guest relation officer) SHe noticed that I was a regular guest and wanted to make herself and her services known. She ensured she found me almost everyday as I was leaving or returning from work to say HI, she wanted to make sure my room was perfect and that anything I requested could be dealt with.
  
  She even went as far as greeting me with a fruit basket and personal card just to ensure I had a warm and welcome stay. A very honorable member of staff and again her english is excellent so is very supportive.
  
  The hotel is business orientated, it is huge, it is very clean and is in a good location around a 5-10 minute walk to various shops, restaurants and a metro station.

  big hotel, not many English speaking staff which is typical for this area. Great location for travel though. the rooms were a bit small, should of upgraded when given the opportunity. lots of restaurants (as long as you like hotpot) withing walking distance and a great shopping mall accross the road.

• Nice and comfortable

  Very comfortable hotel, large clean rooms with bathtub and shower;excellent breakfast with a full offer of European and Chinese food.
  Shame I could not try the indoor pool.
  Just a negative note: not all the staff speak english
