  I hated the bed with the big wooden legs that I used to knock on very often. However, they have a relatively good spread of breakfast and excellent restaurant serving Peking Duck! No much of facility at the hotel. The plus point is easy access to subway and lots of eatery along the way. Decoration a bit of mismatch, combining modern & Chinese décor.

  It is a great choice of location. Very central to everywhere. And the overall service is pretty good.
  Hotel itself is a bit dated, not kept up to date, if we are looking for a modern 4 star hotel.
  Offsetting the bad against to good, it is a decent choice. But I would like to go somewhere else unless there is some sort of renovation.

  We had good experience, not great, but good.
  It's actually one of the many Universal House hotels in the area. The name here is Chinese and probably the old name, but the English name is Universal House Grand Romance (= Luo Man) Hotel. Probably why there are not too many reviews here on Tripadvisor, but did find some reviews though in other sites.
  The location is ok, near a lot of restaurants and convenient stores. It's actually on a major road so it's safe to walk at night too. It's about 20 minutes walk to Tianfu square. But there's a nearby subway station, so very convenient.
  The lobby area was quite grand and clean. Wifi is available at the lobby area and there's a couple of couches where people can sit. The reception folks know a bit of English but not much. We had a tour guide so that was not much of an issue. There some wifi signal in the room though but spotty.
  The rooms were ok, clean and big. We had 3 people to a room. The extra bed is not too comfy though as most extra beds are anyway. But they gave some good fluffy linens which helped. The other two main beds are quite comfy, with clean and fluffy linens too. The carpeting probably makes it feel a bit old, and the decor is a bit mixed style. Otherwise, it's actually a good place to stay.
  Breakfast was ok, served at the big main dining hall, probably not very much for the Western taste though as they serve rice, porridge, vegetables, etc. They did have fried eggs though and some sausages and bread. Also coffee, juice, and yogurt drink and fruits. Most guests were Asian here, maybe that's why. For the last day, we had a very early flight before breakfast was open, and they provided us a simple packed breakfast which contained fruits, bottled water, bread and some packed sausages. We wanted something hot though, so we went to KFC at the airport :-)

  I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in the beginning of April 2015. I informed the staff that my reservations from Booking.com and she confirmed it.
  I found out my credit card is double charged from this hotel later. I sent a email attached with payment record and the staff replied that they can't find my record and it is cancellation policy for ''no show''. It's sucks to charge the guest again and keeps saying ''nothing to do''.

  After a long train ride from Beijing, I made my way to the Luo Man Grand Hotel after being turned away from several other hotels (people at these all pointed towards the Luo Man, I'm assuming because they are the only hotel in the vicinity that has English-speaking staff). The exterior of the Luo Man is quite grand. The foyer, while a bit tacky compared to my Western aesthetic, was also ornate. I therefore expected a nice room. Nada.
  Front-desk staff spoke very little English. I'm sure a lot was lost in translation, as when I asked what the 7:00am-9:00am time indicated on my deposit receipt was, I was told it was check out time!!! Hallways were dark, as was the room I eventually ended up in. But darkness was good, as it hid a lot of the dirt. My comforter had a black stain on it, the carpets had a white powder on them and the bathroom...well, let's not get into the bathroom. The room was also very, very cold. Thankfully though, there were extra blankets in the hall closet.
  I would not recommend this hotel...do yourself a favour and take a cab to another area of Chengdu where accomodations are much, much better.
