Three reasons to stay here: Budget, Budget and Budget
Crossingtheglobe
Hong Kong / Kelowna, BC, Canada | Dec 17, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI was in Chengdu on a business trip back in Oct and the budget was tight (Client wasn't very kind to us at the traveling arrangement). With limited budget, 2 of use choose to stay at the ibis, hoping that atleast this is an international brand and that it would live up to its standard. How could I be so naive to believe any Accord property in China would live up to international standard, especially after my absolutely ridiculous experience in ibis Dalian recently, but well, here I am sampling the great hospitality of ibis China have to offer.
Location:
Is hard to get any worse than this. It is not within walking distance to anywhere meaningful or usually people would go to, no where close to Public Transportation (Both Subway or Bus), terrible location to find a taxi, good luck finding anything to eat at night. It is practically located in the middle of nowhere within the city, how can that happen? I don't know.
To give you a better idea, this place is min 15-20mins taxi ride away from major shopping area, almost an hour from Panda Research Base and atleast 10mins taxi ride away from the closest subway station.
Security:
I didn't came across anything that would compromise my safety during my stay. As usual, ibis doesn't have a in room safe and the door card lock at the elevator doesn't work.
Services:
Poor. The check-in staff looked like she was day dreaming or half asleep. Her ultra slow motion effort took us 35mins to complete the entire check-in process! And she obviously have no idea what she's doing because she was asking someone else every other minute and the other staff and stood there talking on her phone instead of helping this new staff. When we ask is breakfast included (as it should be because I'm Accor Platinum Member), she told me it is, only to our surprise at check out that they bill us for our every breakfast during the 4 days stay, WHAT?!
The hotel has a car park for the guests and there is a big read sign in front of the security post that reads "Free Parking for hotel guests" in Chinese. One morning we hired a car with driver to pick us up as we're going 2hrs out of town for a meeting, when we were trying to leave, the security came u to us and ask us RMB5 for parking fee. I point at the sign and he said that is not valid anymore, accord group, you never failed to amaze me in China.
Rooms:
Standard ibis China room that looks like every other ibis in China. Nothing special but it sure serves it purpose. It is clean, well designed and comfortable.
Hotel Facilities and Dinning:
There is a car park that I do not know charges or not, a small business center at the lobby and a onsite travel service counter, that's about it for facilities.
If your breakfast is NOT included, do not eat here. Cause you're basically paying RMB30 for rubbish, it taste worse than rubbish.
Bottom Line:
If you're only gonna be here for a night or two and is on a tight budget, this place provides you with a clean bed and a quite room. Look elsewhere if you demand anything above the essentials. -
Good as usual

Berlin, Germany | Sep 11, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI stayed at this ibis hotel for 4 nights. It's a very nice hotel, clean and simple rooms. They even offer some continental breakfast for 30RMB. The only disadvantage for travellers might be the location. It's almost impossible to get anywhere without a taxi or catch a taxi in front of the hotel.

Beijing | Nov 14, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI chose this hotel because of the good reviews, but have to say that I do not agree. The location is convenient to the airport, but it's on the crossing of two major streets (second ring road and Yongfeng road) with a huge construction site in the front. The rooms have good windows, so with closed window it's quiet, but with open window it's noisy. I am especially dissatisfied with the guy at the reception who did my check in, he gave me wrong information about the opening times of the Chengdu Panda Base, even after I asked him to check online. He also insisted it's difficult to find a cab driver who is willing to take me there and he organized an overpriced cab for me that didn't show in the morning. Luckily, it turned out to be easy to find a cab driver on the street for a much lower price. The other service staff were nice and helpful, though not too experienced in dealing with tourists. I speak Chinese so I don't know about their English skills. The room was clean and okay for the price. The breakfast was reasonable for 25 Yuan.

Terrible and unpleasant experience - avoid at all costs
Globaltrotter1303
Hong Kong, China | Oct 26, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayTitle - Terrible hotel - avoid at all costs
We chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport as we waited for our transit flight the next morning.
This hotel fails to deliver on many levels:
1) Our booking with hotels.com was automatically cancelled by 6pm without any notification hence we were informed there was no room for us when we checked-in due to its high occupancy ;
2) As I could speak Mandarin, I manage to negotiate with the reception and miraculously after 30 mins of negotiation, there was a room available for us but to be paid in cash even though we have already paid in full with our hotels.com voucher;
3) reception service was very poor and at midnight, there were at least 5 other guests standing in queue for at least 30 mins;
4) location is poor -construction site just in front of hotel so it was very dirty and no taxis are willing to drive in;
5) To get a taxi, you have to walk out to the main road which is near the highway and many taxis refuse to stop for you. Thus, its extremely difficult to get a taxi at off-peak hour;
6) reception is aware of taxis issue but when I requested for help, they simply admitted that its not in their hotel duties nor job scope to help you;
7) Rooms feel dirty with basic amenities.
Overall, terrible and unpleasant experience - avoid at all costs.
