  We were there for the World Police and Fire Games in Chengdu. This hotel was the Host Hotel. It was honestly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in and I have travelled extensively. The staff were amazing, nothing was ever to much trouble. Andy the Food and Beverage Manager was such a great guy, in the end we became personal friends. Wouldn't stat anywhere else in Chengdu. Also Chengdu is just so beautiful and the Chinese people of Chengdu were the kindest most hospitable people in the World, they wete always so happy and friendly. The hotel room we stayed in was a deluxe and it was so beautiful with a direct view out our room window on the 26th floor syraight across to the Global Centre, the biggest building and biggest Hotel in the World.

• Great long weekend

  Had a fantastic long weekend visiting Chengdu at this Intercontinental. Upon arriving, we found we were upgraded and the manager Vanessa had arranged for a birthday cake to be waiting in our room, a welcome treat! Overall this property met the high standards of service for the Intercontinental brand. We booked a club room, and the included breakfast, tea, and cocktail hour were all good quality and great value for the money. The staff, especially on the club floor were all very friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that the room stereo sound system wasn’t hooked up at all. The speaker wires were just tied up in the back of the TV with no attempt to connect them to anything. Maybe I’m the only guest in a while who bothered trying to play any music.

  Great hotel next to the conference center. We had a suite which was well designed and spacious. The room was very quiet and well soundproofed, and the bed and bedding was very comfortable. Water pressure for shower was nice and the Japanese toilet is a nice touch
  We were also able to enjoy the intercontinental lounge which was very lovely with a good selection of food and excellent service!

  My family and I stayed here for a couple nights and were lucky enough to be upgraded to the executive floor. Thus, we were able to enjoy the lounge on the fifth floor where we received excellent service from Cherry, Kristina, and Pradip.

  On top of the outstanding hotel and facilities, the stand out for this hotel was the staff. Tiffany and her Guest Relations team went over and above to make our stay special as we were celebrating a special occasion. We arrived a day late due to a tsunami in the area, but were still greeted so warmly, it was like meeting up with long lost friends. Any time we walked through the hotel, the staff were always so friendly and helpful. Based on the staff here, Intercontinental Hotels will be my hotel of choice in the future.
  The hotel itself was amazing. The lobby and restaurants looked spectacular, with an awesome mix of sophistication and a relaxing forest-style setting, what a great place to eat breakfast and dinner. The food was always delicious, with a great variety of cuisines. Once again, the restaurant staff were great, from the host, to the table attendants, to the chefs who cooked my omelettes every day.
  Our room was also great. Very spacious for room, and the bathroom was also clean and roomy. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable, especially as we collapsed into bed every night after very busy day.
  We also had access to the lounge floor, which was a great spot to catch up with friends in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Just like the restaurant, the food and drinks were tasty and varied.
  My wife also had a birthday in the time we were here, which we never mentioned, but when we arrived back at the hotel on her birthday, there was a delicious cake and card waiting for us. I spoke to Tiffany about this the next day where she told me there was three birthdays on the same day, all of whom got the same treatment, outstanding.
  I would definatley recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chengdu. It is located right next to the Convention Centre, and is not too far from many other iconic Chengdu landmarks.
