Great stay: Close to Beijing conference center
Mohamedelsabaa
Sep 25, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStayed for 3 nights in Maximilian hotel, as i had a conference in Beijing conference center, the rooms are very good. The staff tries to be as helpful as possible, and the hotel was close to Beijing conference center, ask for a taxi through the concierge if you need to get there, it costs around 14 RMB.
The location is quiet far from town though, but you can get to the subway station either by walking around 2 km or by bus from the road adjacent to the hotel or get a cab from the concierge. The hotel has a very helpful map for the subway in both english and chinese, which helped me in my trip a lot as taxi drivers barely speak english. Finally try not to get ripped off by taxi drivers, a taxi from town or the airport costs around 70 RMB if he is using the meter. But I suggest taking the airport express train if you reach before 11 at night. -

Nice Hotel but far from the City Center

Bern, Switzerland | Apr 27, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayI enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. The Room was large and very nice. (6. Floor facing the road). It was also quiet and the cleaning services where perfect. I also hat breakfast at the hotel wich was great too. Big variety of foods.
The Staff was very friendly & helpful.
2 Things to heed thogh:
> The Taxi drivers dont know where the Hotel is, so print out a way description in chinese in advance
> The Hotel is quite far away from the City center. 20Min walk to the next subway Station and then another 30-45 Minute Subway ride, depending where you're heading. -

Feb 9, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessWe stayed in November just after they opened their doors. The rooms are lovely, nicely designed with a good bed. The air condition did not work at that time, all we got was very hot air.
The hotel is way out of town. Make sure you have the hotel address with you in Chinese. Taxi drivers will not know where it is. There are some good local restaurants, but it is difficult to communicate if you do not speak Chinese.
Breakfast was not what I expected from a Steigenberger, even at low occupancy and in the opening period. It was more B&B than 5* hotel! The staff still needed a lot of training and guidance. One morning we were told we had to pay extra when we ordered a Latte with our breakfast, the next we could not have one at all and another morning it was not a problem. Hopefully the service will grow over time.
The gym was well equipped, all other facilities were still closed at the time of our visit. -
Very clean hotel

Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan | Dec 29, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThis hotel was so far from the subway station. I took 30 minutes from the station, not convenient. Beijing has good public transportation, so I wanted to stay at the hotel near the station. This hotel should not be for the business trip, absolutely for the leisure. This hotel is not familiar among Chinese people, so I had problems to reach there on foot. I enjoyed my staying at the clean room and nice food and good hospitality.
