Older venue
hinesdar
New Orleans, Louisiana | Sep 30, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyGrand old hotel with a gorgeous lobby and centrally located but disappointed on the room. The room was smelly and the shower old. There was a separate shower and full size tub but the hot water was sporadic. The biggest problem was the toilet wouldn't always flush! Maintenance had to be called in. Two single beds no king size.
I did like the idea that a food court/shopping was conveniently located in the basement and I did go for a foot massage in the complex. 188 yuen or $33 a bit overpriced but a necessity after a day in the Great Wall -
It is only a three stars hotel
lwNassau
Nassau | Sep 28, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThis hotel tried very hard to label itself as a five stars hotel, all the suffers work very hard to try to please its guests, they even sent me a big birthday cake during my stay, but my stay was not that pleasant. Here is why,
Wi-Fi is free, but it is not working well, after they put a extra router in my room, it is still slow.
After checked in, first day, security box broken, second day hot water boiler broken, third day closet door broken
We requested no smoker floor, and was told all floors were banded smoking, but there were a lot of smokers in our floor, they were not only smoking in their rooms, but also they would open their doors and let all the smoke into the hallway, really amazing.
Room is kind of dirty, lot of mold in the bathroom.
I need working wifi, cleaning room, no smoking than a birthday cake.
Good thing, restaurants are good, bed is very comfortable. -
It was a Good Experience

Kuwait | Jul 20, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessIt had been my first visit to Beijing, recently on a business trip, and the Empark Grand Hotel was recommended by a Chinese friend. Hotel is really good and had a stay for 2 nights.Had reached past midnight and the check-in took a little long than usual .Language was a problem. The front office staff were trying to help with the English they could manage. It was ok, as across China similar experiences are common and I was expecting it.The room was good, clean and comfortable. Wifi connectivity was a little low but later they fixed it. Food was good even though had some surprises and I was ready for it. The big wide lobby and the coffee shops gave ample space for meetings. The travel desk was also helpful and I could get my domestic flight arranged for the next destination through them. Overall it was good. Would consider visiting again.

Not recommended for non-smokers
stangina
Vestal New York | Apr 4, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessStayed there for a meeting with colleagues. Luckily got placed on 12th floor, a "non-smoking" floor (= less smoke than others). Smoggy outside (also sand-storm), so did not see blue sky even though sun and moon were out and shining through. Maid opened window in room each day, letting in the smog. Air-conditioning was not very effective in rooms or public areas. Nice large working desk in room with multiple sockets - just a pity that they were not connected to a power source. Fortunately there were a couple of outlets on the wall next to the desk. Did not see any outlets her the bed.
Food is quite reasonable in buffet style restaurant - did not see smoking there. Also many Chinese restaurants on basement level (only speak Chinese). Banquet and meeting facilities were quite acceptable. Weddings seem to be very popular.
Not near any sights or public transportation, so cannot recommend to tourists. -
A fine place to stay
BroOrange
Shanghai, China | Feb 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI stayed in this hotel for three nights while attending a conference with Chinese colleagues. I have stayed in many hotels of varying standards in China and found this one to be a solid upper-mid range 4 star hotel. It is sprawling, in the style of a "grand" hotel, but definitely not in the 5 star category (as often described). The room and bathroom were big, clean and well maintained. The only issue was that the shower was slow to drain. The corridors, lifts and public areas were immaculate. The lobby is big and quite opulent. The restaurant was bigger and better than average compared to similar hotels in China, but nothing exceptional. Dishes were mainly Chinese, which is always fine by me. Beneath the hotel is an expansive basement-level shopping complex that includes various restaurants, boutique shops and a Walmart, which was very convenient. The nearest subway station is about 15-20 mins walk directly down the road from the hotel. The staff were friendly enough, spoke little English. It perhaps doesn't cater very well to the tourist who is unfamiliar with China and doesn't speak any Chinese. Deposit of $600 seemed excessive by local standards, payable only by credit card (wouldn't accept my local Visa Debit, which most other hotels of this standard do). Overall, nothing much to fault about this hotel though.
