Nice hotel to say at in Beijing
acwong
Phoenix, Arizona | Jun 17, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyCame here as part of a tour that included the hotel. We were actually pleasantly surprised to see that it was very nice. The beds were hard but this was a trend throughout our China trip. We had a room with 2 x double beds and it was fairly spacious and had a nice bathroom. If you only speak English, you will find it hard to communicate with the staff and they don't speak much English.
It comes with free breakfast in the mornings and it quite a nice spread. Definitely filled up on food in the morning before our journey out to explore the city. Traffic is horrible in Beijing so getting here from the airport took about 45 minutes. -
Satisfactory, but minimal extra amenities.

U.S. | May 21, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesAsvertised as 5 star, but. I wouldn't rate as such. No pool or jacuzzi. No tea or coffee in room. Cannot charge lobby's drinks to room. Very limited English speakers. We chose because we wanted to arrive early for a tour and didn't want to change hotel. Mix up in room when we checked in - they mistakenly assigned a subsequent guest our room. Other than that, staff pleasant, room very clean, rates very reasonable. Just make sure you know the location is convenient for what you need or you will spend a lot of time in traffic.

Nice place to stay in Beijing

Porto, Portugal | Nov 5, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyWe spent 4 nights in Plaza during our China tour last month. The hotel was booked with our travel agency as a part of this tour. The hotel is quite far from the center, but you have the subway station right in front of the hotel, so its ok. The rooms were good, clean and spacious. WiFi only in the lobby and the signal isn't very strong. The breakfast was ok. In the same place were the breakfast is served, supposedly is a restaurant at lunch and dinner. We tried to have lunch there when we arrived, and it was terrible. They almost hadn't any food, the staff didn't speak english and the food was very poor. For me, the main problem of this hotel is the staff, they don't speak english at all our they only speak a little that isn't enough for providing a good service.

Dreadful Hotel
JutterBug
Singapore | Oct 4, 2025Normally, I am a traveler that do not always fault other people's service by being empathetic to them. However, i have much discontent over this Hotel's hospitality during my last stay at this Plaza Hotel Beijing. I stayed at this Plaza hotel from 20 September to 26 September 2025 under a tour group booking. Unfortunately for me, this is the most obnoxious and terrible hotel i had stayed in my traveling life. First and foremost, if you are checked in under a group tour booking, be prepared that the mini bar will be locked like a safe by the hotel. They mentioned that tour group bookings stay-in guests are not allowed to use the mini-bar due to their past experiences with other hotel guests, such as denying and not paying after they had consumed the items.
Secondly, the hotel has the standard amenities in the room but i have to comment that the aircon is not cold, even at the highest mode of fan blowing and decrease in temperature setting, some nights waking up in buckets of perspiration!
The first night i ordered room service: 2 bowls of wanton soup noodles. the noodles came but the prawns were rotten because the noodles really tasted terrible and smelled really bad! Breakfast at the Le Grand restaurant were the same every day, food taste and quality was below average.
STAFF at front office : NO friendly engaging smile and their attitude was like you owned them tons of $..rude and disrespectful. I have seen too often guests (even local guests) complained and shouted at them for being rude and bad attitude towards them.
STAFF at Le grand restaurant : The greeting service staff (it will be the same girl everyday) disdainfully look at guests when asking about your "room number, how many people". And please do not leave the restaurant and go to the washroom (outside the restaurant) during breakfast because when you are about to enter the restaurant again, the greeting girl will give you an unwelcoming look and asked you "who are you" again, amid rudely.
I cant imagine staff working in a Hospitality industry could be so unforgivingly disrespectful and rude to their guests! and it proudly pinned the "5 stars hotel rating" right beside its check in front office!
5 stars? i hardly think so..based on their "PLAZA HOTEL" standard maybe..but it would be dreadful if it is international standard!
Please Stay at your own risk! -
Good location but sub-par rooms

Sep 7, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessWe stayed here with a tour group recently and found this hotel very underwhelming.
What I liked:
- Free wifi in the lobby area
- There was a subway stop right outside the hotel which made it very easy to get around
- Rooms are quite large
What I did not like:
- Our room was smelly and there was mould in the shower
- The staff do not speak English at all and the hotel had no English maps of the area or the subway
- The beds are very hard, even by Chinese standards
Overall, I would never go here as an individual traveller but it's not the worst hotel you can end up in.
