I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

The hotel lobby is huge and impressive. The room was nice, with a good view over Beijing. There is a Carrefour supermarket close by the hotel, which is great for utilities shopping. The only drawback is the smell of tobacco remaining in the room (it should improve over time as the hotel is now nonsmoking). The metro is not far from the hotel which is really useful to move in Beijing.

We have stayed first time at the Xiyuan Hotel in Beijing. Friendly, courteous staff they speak English. Rooms were very nicely laid out, all the amenities that you expect from. Comfortable sleep quality. Breakfast has a wide variety of things, from Fresh orange juice, eggs to order, lot of Asian food.

Nanjing, China | May 26, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travel

Stayed here over a weekend while visiting a friend in Beijing, and was overall very satisfied with my room and the service. The room was spotless and had a great view, and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were as helpful as I needed, giving me directions about the area and holding onto my luggage at reception when I asked, though I was mostly speaking Chinese with them so difficulties definitely could have arisen otherwise (there was a £300 deposit that took me by surprise, but managed to sort things in the end).
The food was excellent, and it was nice to have access to a gym, if basic. Overall I was very happy with my experience considering the relatively low price, though I would warn westerners traveling here that there don't seem to be any staff fluent in English. (Though some of them speak it to a fair standard)
The Beijing Zoo metro station was a short walk away, via which you can easily get around the whole of Beijing. There was also a Carrefour supermarket very nearby where I bought water and snacks.

  • Enjoyed our Beijing stay

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Xiyuan Hotel in Beijing. We were there for a visit to the Hanban and BCC International. We enjoyed the service, breakfast, and the rooms. The beds were typical hard mattresses, but still lots of fun. We'll be back!

  • I got depressed!!!!

The Xiyuan Hotel has bad rooms, Front Desk staff, restaurant staff, Bad r----- restaurant and the list goes on.
The front desk staff had no smile on their faces, poor English spoken, even if they know. People cut the line and the staff (front desk) does not care.
I dined in two restaurants at the hotel the table was dirty I asked the waitresses to clean it and they showed no interest and they kept me sitting on the same table and they put the plate on top of the dirty area to cover it.
Service is so bad it’s like telling me eat and go.
For a Five Star Hotel the concierge does not speak English I wonder!
The room is old and dirty, the bed sheet was torn, the furniture were damaged, some of the bathroom tiles were broken even around the shower area you will see fungus between the tiles.
