  And this is really so - room are comfortable, clean and what is most important - smells so clean and fresh! Having visited fair amount of hotels in many china cities I really can say that many, even expensive hotels have odd smells as in corridors and also rooms, maybe because of smoking, maybe old carpets but that smell is present.
  Here fresh smell and modern, not exaggerated (i.e fake gold columns, monster huge chandeliers and fake flowers on entrance), it greets you with perfect english speaking staff, lightning fast check in, and great breakfast at morning.
  Pillows - nicely prepared 2 types with a notes on them - softer and harder.
  What else you need? I will sure chose this hotel again
  Just one note - there is some problem with aircon (not only my room, my colleagues room had same problem)- it just makes room freezing cold, and temperature adjusting does not works, you can make 28 or 15 its all same.
  I was forced to switch it off finally.

  Instant coffee in room. Self service laundry. Just comfortable size room for two, but fine considering all we did was sleep and shower there. WIFI connection fine. A few blocks away from the subway station. Close to University but at least 45-60 minutes into city center.Breakfast options of Western & Chinese foods was great but the restaurant dinner options mediocre. Felt like a student cafeteria but too tired that night to go elsewhere. Bathroom light shown through glass block wall into sleeping area. Typical of Holiday Inn Express not enough shelf room in bathroom. Considering I did not speak Chinese the staff, who spoke English at varying degrees, was very accommodating and patient.

  Checking in was a breeze as they were expecting me on the day of check in. Just had to provide my passport and the room and was given the keycard to the room.
  The room was clean and bed was comfortable, however I was able to hear my colleague in the other room taking conference calls which shows that the walls were really thin. Thank goodness I was able to buzz him to keep it down or move to another part of the room.
  The wireless coverage in the room was below average and I was having random disconnections thus was forced to use their LAN connection instead and had to create a WLAN access point via my laptop instead so my mobile could be online. WLAN AP signal strength should have above average coverage in all hotels by now. Holiday Inn should really improve their WLAN.
  Everything else seems as usual as per all Holiday Inn Express branches, the air conditioning is not adjustable (Either you on the blower or off it). The tempreture is not controllable so I suggest to turn off the blower at night else you will be freezing to death at night. I had to suffer 2 nights because I was playing around with the temp assuming it works but guess not.
  As for the location of the hotel, it was fine because it was near to the office and as for nearby there are heaps of fast food branches such as KFC, McDonalds and some local food so food wasn't an issue at the location.
  Upon checking out the staff was really busy as everyone was trying to check-out and some trying to check-in, would suggest to have more staff during peak hours to help ease the load.

• Noisy and expensive

  The room is quite big and clean, with confortable bed. The walks are quite thin, so I heard the TV of the neighbour and their talks until very late. Breakfast is acceptable for Westener standards. In my opinion, the hotel is not cheap for the value it offers.
