I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

The hotel is in a neighborhood hutong and was incredibly comfortable. I loved being away from all the tourists. The hotel is modern and trendy, the rooms are huge, and the hotel location made it easy to it to be immersed in the culture. The hotel is located a block away from the subway (just at the end of the street) so you can get anywhere in the city within minutes. The staff is very accommodating and were kind enough to help me book transportation to/from the airport, the Great Wall, and gave great directions for all the sites I wanted to see. The only slight negative was the front desk staff didn't speak very good English (nor should they have to), but they tried very hard with Google translator. I appreciated their effort.

  • Nice location, clean rooms but some improvement should be made

This boutique hotel is very nice, decorated elegantly and rooms are very spacious.
We enjoyed getting to our room and see the decorated honeymoon bed that they've made for us.
This was a lovely gesture from the hotel.
The bed is big and the room have plenty of space but lack of basic stuff that we're looking for (place for the luggage to open, big mirror, etc.)
The bathroom were clean and had all what we need for.
Breakfast is nice but something you'll not flip your mind but very good start for your day.
The area of the hotel has different types of restaurants and you should try one in case you'll find yourself near the hotel around lunch or evening time.
    Couple of notes though:
    1. Staff are struggling to help us in English (although, only one staff member know fluent English which was great and helpful) but manager didn't know English and it was a bit frustrating.
    2. We book a day-trip to the wall through the hotel and this was a big mistake. I hope the hotel change the company that they worked with.
The price was way more expensive than other travelers who took the same trip from a different hotel.
The hotel describe the trip different than it was, no guide was actually lead us along the wall but it was only some kind of a big taxi that took us there and that's it.
There was no option to take the route without the cable car - and we were actually forced to pay another extra 100 YUN to get to the wall (although the hotel told us it will be our choice if we want to take it or not).
Although this day-trip runs by a different company - I'd suggest that the hotel will be responsible for their services they are charged for and if not, they should let their guests know that beforehand so it will be their choice.
I can honestly say that we've delivered our complaints to the hotel and after a while they were gave us half refund back of this trip and ensured us that they will check with the tour company about their service.
Hope that things got better for your next guests

  • Modern facilities with Oriental Touch

Singapore, Singapore | Oct 3, 2025 | Trip type: Couples

This is a beautiful boutique hotel that sits on a residential street. Room is large and and clean and is furnished with oriental decoration. But the amazing thing is that the moment you exit the hotel you find yourself standing in a residential estate. We found many small family-own convenient stores, and small laundry shops around, as well as good authentic restaurants/shops that sell good local breakfast. At night the area transforms into Chinese restaurants and open into the wee hours (we didn't hear anything from our room fortunately).
It is 10 mins walk from the subway station.

We were in Beijing recently and stayed in this hotel for a few nights. The hotel was extremely clean, and our rooms were very large, bright and very well presented. The breakfast was a mix of western and Asian foods and was replaced continuously. The hotel also offered a bar and seating area. The staff were not particularly proficient with English but were helpful in showing us how to get to places using the subway, and gave us suggestions of restaurants to go to for dinner. The closest subway station was within a two minute walk down the street making the hotel very central for going anywhere in Beijing. The hotel is situated in a hutong, which was interesting in itself, however a taxi can drive in right up to the doorway. We were very impressed with this hotel and would recommended it to others looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Beijing. As others have said, the only negative for some of us, were the birds in the foyer.

  • Amazing Boutique Hotel

Playa Ocotal, Costa Rica | Sep 22, 2025 | Trip type: Couples

Many people head for familiarity when they travel...the well known name, the NA chain, the usual service credos. For some, that is exactly what they want. For others, who want to be able to experience more of China than orchestrated tours, The Sofu Hotel should be on your radar.
Nestled in a real world hutong, where people live and work, the Sofu offers excellent service and value with the option to stroll the neighbourhood with the locals. Hutongs are a threatened species, as developers eye these low rise neighbourhoods for building condos, but there is serious pushback, as this is the way people have lived here for centuries...shops in front, homes in back or above, everybody knows everybody.
The hotel is well appointed, and very brisk in attending to any needs you might have. The reception desk staff is exceptional, and they work very hard to make your stay enjoyable.
    Notes and Observations:
    - Rooms, with the exception of the single room, are a good size, and the beds are firm... linens and towels are in excellent shape, and little perks are everywhere (robes, toiletries, complimentary water and snacks)
    - A set of elevators services all the floors (not a given everywhere)
    - Breakfast is included, although the selection doesn't vary much on a day to day basis
    - The Sofu clientele is a mix of Asian and North American guests, which gives it an international flavour.
    - It is 5 minutes from the Ping Anli subway station, which makes it very easy to get around Beijing.
    - WiFi is slow, but China is known for restricting access to non-domestic sites (Google is a non-starter), although in Xian we had good connection speeds. Can sometimes get better connections in the hotel cafe.
    - Most nights, when the weather is good, they play movies outside the hotel on the terrace for guests, and anyone else who drifts by.
Although everybody there was friendly and helpful, special mention must be made to Sara, the Guest Relations Manager, who was so warm and informative during our stay. Yuan Li at Reception was a real gem as well.
