• Convenient location

  This hotel is seated on top of a shopping mall as well as the train station. Food and moving around is not an issue.
  Room are clean enough and very spacious. There is a half a kitchen with nothing much, I do not suggest cooking there.
  But if you are taking a taxi around, take note that the roads around are always jam, especially during peak hours. It will be faster walking half hour to get to a location than taking a taxi. The train should be your preferred way to get out away from the area.
  WIFI is good, but if you are using Andriod, take note that the WIFI does not allow you to connect to the Playstore. Ensure to download your translator/ map before travelling to China.

  I stayed here for a month in November 2014, and was very happy with the Ascott for an extended stay.
  My four-day trip back in June 2015, however, was much less pleasant. The breakfast was pretty terrible (the cereal was stale), and the front desk staff was less than gracious when I checked in late at night. I'm also not sure how well the construction is holding up--my shower didn't seem to drain properly and they were doing construction on the pool for the first two days of my stay.
  The location is great, but I'll look around for another option next time unless it looks like this hotel has upped their game. This is just too high a price point to have these problems.

• Nice place for extended stay in Beijing

  Ascott Raffles City Beijing is a nice place to stay for an extended visit. It has a convenient location being above Beijing Dongzhimen Subway station for line 2, line 13, and the airport express train.
  Rooms are very comfortable and spacious for the price. The Concierges are helpful and pleasant. The facility is intended for more extended stay rather than short term stay. I stayed in a single king bed room for a month. The room was spacious. There was a living room, small kitchen, and bathroom. There was a small closet in both the bathroom and the bedroom. The kitchens have a combination washer/dryer to handle small laundry loads. There is a microwave, refrigerator, oven, and two burner cooktop for those ambitious enough to actually cook. Room service is twice a week rather than daily. Housekeeping even washes the dirty dishes in the sink as well as changing the linens, etc. Free coffee/cappacino/latte is available in the floor 7 reading room. Free coffee available in the 6th floor lobby.
  Since the hotel is tailored for people with extended stays, the lobby isn't a vibrant meeting place that the short term hotels use to attract guests. It can't handle large groups, but it's comfortable and generally quiet. The price compared to other western logo chain hotels, this was a fantastic bargain.
  The hotel is above a small mall. The mall has a small B&G grocery in the basement. There is a dry cleaner with a store front near the mall entrance to the subway station. (dry cleaning and laundry can also be done from the room, but more expensive than either the mall cleaner or using the washer/dryer).
  Dongzhimen area has many options for eating out within a comfortable walk. Many of them are quite excellent and are mentioned in several guidebooks. This is in addition to several more than acceptable restaurants in Raffles City Mall (try the Korean BBQ). A Starbucks is available across the street south.
  Free Wifi in the rooms is good by Beijing standards (which is very slow by US standards). There is also hardwired Ethernet available in the bedroom. TV selections have a large number of English language choices (HBO/AXN/CNN/MSNBC/CCTV9 among others) by Beijing standards.

  The Ascott Raffles City Beijing is an excellent apartment/hotel. The suites are large and well appointed with all the necessary amenities to make a stay comfortable. The location is central and located at the Dongzhimen subway station. The staff are friendly and accommodating! I always stay here. It's my home-away-from-home.

• Nice rooms & facilities - not so the breakfast

  I stayed 5 nights in a 1 bedroom king apartment. Rooms are nice with a wonderful bathroom.
  Facilities such as swimming pool, gym and sauna are great. Breakfast is not excellent though with subpar quality fruits etc
  This place doesnt have a lobby or bar where you can have a late drink with friends.
  For that price I would look for alternatives the next time.
