I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Everything you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express

We stayed in Hong Kong at the Holiday Inn Express in Kowloon East and this was exactly the same room, with the same furnishings and layout, albeit with 2 double beds whereas the Hong Kong location only had 2 singles. We were easily able to push the 2 beds together (on wheels) and have room for our son to sleep in the middle.
This hotel was included as part of a tour from Hong Kong, so expect decent comfortable and clean accommodations at a good rate, and most importantly a good breakfast. The included breakfast had about 8 choices of hot foods, including western options such as fried eggs, sausage, potatoes, while also having fried rice, steamed veggies, congee and chinese buns. Seating was plentiful despite having over 20 people on our tour and other guests at the breakfast, although we chose to sit outside on the patio.
As I was on a tour I didn't need to converse with any of the staff so i'm not sure if there would be trouble getting help in English. There's a 7-11 and a small grocery store just next door so you can pickup some late night beer or snacks. If I remember correctly wifi was very fast, although apparently Facebook, Twitter and Google are blocked in China so I wasn't able to access my gmail except through connecting using remote desktop to my home computer.
I'm not able to compare it to anything else in Beijing, however it met all my standards for a good mid-end hotel.

  • Finally a smoke free clean room

Wonderful experience. It wasn't fancy but it was definitely nicer than your regular holiday inn. The room was a breath of fresh air literally after all the cigarette smoke filled rooms we stayed in while in Beijing. The breakfast was mostly Chinese style but came with your staples of cereal, yogurt and sausage. There is also an airport shuttle that departs from the hotel at two hour intervals all morning into the early afternoon Monday to Friday. We actually decided on whom to take the metro to the hotel and saved at least 300 yuan on a taxi. There's an information desk in the metro that can print out an itinerary for you and you have to take subway line 2 then 13, 15 and finally bus number 116 which drops you off right in front of the hotel. This whole journey only cost us 8 yuan so it's definitely something that can be done especially if you're not carrying too much luggage.

  • A Good Airport Hotel

A great value and near the airport. A taxi will cost you 50 RMB, but the driver won't be happy because they like far runs from the airport. Make sure you have the hotel phone number to give the driver, because most will not be able to find the location.
The desk will call a taxi for you if you can't take the free shuttle as our time was in the evening
Typical Chinese Holiday Inn Express that is new and clean.

  • Great alternative to more expensive hotels near the airport.

Great place to stay near the airport - just plan on the hotel to eat. I fail to understand the minimum character requirement for the review process as this requires me to add this bullcrap at the end of my review.

  • Very clean, very nice.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our stay in China, for 3 nights when we first arrived and then a final night before our departing flight back to the US. The rooms were clean and nice though cooling them off was an issue. One room only occasionally got to a comfortably cool temp even after having maintenance check it. Cooling seemed to always shut off at night.??The beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was sufficient for us, and there were forks! The buffet was geared toward nationals not foreign visitors but we were clearly the minority so that makes perfect sense. We would have appreciated orange juice each morning and a ready supply of cold milk available with our breakfast but we never went away hungry. The desk staff was as helpful as possible with the language barrier. My husband tried to purchase a Coke from the desk staff, who pointed him to the buffet area, where he was directed back to the desk. He left and walked to the 7-11 next door. There was one young man on the desk who's English was better and he really tried. We took the shuttle twice to the airport and that worked out fine for us. The shuttle and proximity to the airport were major reasons we chose this hotel. Our biggest problem was at our initial check-in. The staff asked us for a password when running our Visa card. We have never had or used a password. I don't know if this was a local hotel issue, Holiday Inn issue or Visa issue but for whatever reason we were unable to pay with our credit card. Major problem! We had to use the currency we'd brought to pay for 3 nights/two rooms leaving us pretty short for the rest of the trip, but we managed. A little advise: Address cards are very helpful when traveling in China. Language, even in Beijing which is pretty international, is going to be a concern but a smile and good attitude helps a lot. Overall our stay here worked out fine and we would certainly stay here again.
