Beautiful hotel, great location but rooms are a pricey 3*
Tess G
Hong Kong, China | Sep 30, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe communal areas of the hotel are beautifully decorated with lovely little courtyards around which the rooms are located. It feels authentic and fitting with the Hutong area but with it being two stories and rooms having an ensuite I assume it is newly built? Either way it looks great in both daylight and at night time.
The staff were nice too, offering us late checkout without us asking, after we requested a taxi later in the afternoon.
My mark down was because of value for money. As a regular business traveller to Beijing, staying in large international hotel chains such as Marriott, this hotel was twice as much as my room at the Marriott for lower quality room and breakfast. The breakfast wasn't great, most of the food had been eaten without being replaced and not great quality, although we did arrive in last 30 minutes of breakfast. Rooms were basic with large but weirdly designed bathrooms - seals showing around the sinks and a shower that flooded the bathroom floor no matter which way you aimed the shower head.
We had a great weekend in Beijing, enjoying the Hutong area, and enjoyed the beauty of this hotel (it's not your average hotel), but not wowed by the room itself given price. -
Wonderful hotel amongst the hutongs

Boston, Massachusetts | Sep 2, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI love this hotel! The architecture is traditional Chinese, the rooms are large and clean, and the location is perfect - just steps away from one of Beijings pedestrian only shopping streets (crafts, food, etc). Some things to note: when I stayed here, there were very few other guests, so the restaurant was practically deserted - and the quality/amount of food suffered for that reason - this is the one thing I think could be improved. There is wifi at the hotel that is working well but you will receive "unique" instructions upon checkin - enter the login/password that they give you, then "a blue box will appear...enter your passport number so that the government can see what websites you visit...then you are ready...". Interesting. :-) I would definitely stay here again!

Ickenham, United Kingdom | Sep 1, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe stayed at the Han’s Royal Hotel for one night, great room and very spacious with a sitting area, and service. Nice place to take photos as it is very authentic.
Food in a private room was excellent, and we were looked after with excellent staffs.
Highly recommended. -

Jun 14, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyThis hotel is absolutely amazing , the building is a traditional Chinese courtyard full of history of elegance. We stayed in the hotel for 5 days and we booked their Mediterranean suite. The room is really big and comfortable and it includes a lot of nice services like free Forbidden city tickets and free bicycles to visit the area near the hotel (the hotel is situated in the heart of the city, where you can visit the traditional chinese alleys, and is really close to all the touristic places).
About the breakfast I think is quite good and not so bad as other people described before, it is possible that they have changed something.
The best thing of this hotel is its services, the staff is incredible, there are western receptionists ready to help you in every situation and give you good suggestions about restaurants and transportation. One of them came with us to the restaurant because we were not able to find it. I really want to thank all the staff for their help and their warm welcome.
I would chose this hotel again! -

Flemington, New Jersey | May 5, 2025It is a beautiful building and nice people tending to it but they don't have AC turned on. Had to take a shower in the middle of the night to cool down. Not very modern in this sense. It is also quite expensive. You are probably better off somewhere else.
The hotel driver was awesome. He was nice and accommodating to take us at all hours.
The place could be so much better if they at least had fans
