• Great Location, Spacious Clean Room, Friendly Helpful Staff

  Stayed for 9 nights in September 2015.
  Location great. Between 2 metros but Lingjing Metro(Line 4) is nearer and easier access. Buses in Xidan street few steps away. Taxis in front of hotel. Location is in a small street ( not directly in Xidan North street) south side of Xidan Shopping Center. Not hard to find.
  Eateries, restaurants and groceries are all nearby. Xidan is a big shopping area. Avoid at all cost restaurant in the basement right beside the entrance of hotel, has picture signs and a waitress standing by the stairs.
  Walking distance to Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City but there is Xidan metro Line 1 and buses at Chang'an Ave.
  Hotel is clean and safe. Small lobby but you don't go to Beijing for that. Few steps to the lifts. Access to rooms has security. The one bedroom suite is very spacious. Beds are comfortable. Has a safe. Bathroom is spacious. It has a small kitchen but spacious living room. Towels are changed daily. Room is cleaned daily too. Linens are changed on request.
  Room cleaning crew are honest and did their job well. My money almost $500 was just on top of the safe for 4 days forgot to put it in the safe was there on the same position and not a dollar missing.
  The only downside, our room has no washer and stove not functioning but we have a microwave and fridge and 2 complimentary bottled water daily. There's a small grocery at Xidan Center for water supply. .
  Staff are friendly and very helpful with directions and for anything we need. They speak limited English but be patient with them and they will help you. We don't speak Chinese either. The guy in charge of their laundry is very helpful with directions, writing addresses in Chinese for us and even booked our Mu Tian Yu Great Wall tour.
  We were very satisfied and happy with our stay in HWA apartment, in Xidan area and all the staff.
  We will stay again in HWA apartment whenever we go back to Beijing.

• Grate location, but old interior.

  Hotel is great for location, close to Forbidden City.
  Cleanliness of rooms is not good for price of room.
  Room have new TV and old furniture, some furniture is broken.
  But room have everything for cooking and some rooms have washing machine and rooms is big enough.
  Better to choose rooms with city view, instead of garden view (too dark inside)
  If you can't speak chinese it's easy ask for taxi on reception desk, than ask taxi driver directly.
  PS. Please, do not agree for taxi without using meter, prices is 2-5 times higher and next time they don't want take passengers for meter drive!

  We had a hard time deciding between a hotel room in Wanfujing area vs. a two bedroom suite at HWA; we couldn't be happier that we picked the latter.
  For about USD 100 per night, you got a two bedrooms ( one queen, one twin) two baths suite with kitchen, dining area and sitting area, three sets of TV
  and three sets of AC units. The room is not the newest but it is certainly far from dated as well. The
  master bathroom is marble and was kept super clean. The room did not smell of smoke may be because it wasn't carpeted.
  The location is superb with lots of food choices and shopping nearby. The closest subway station Xidan is an interchange station of lines one and four, getting taxi in Beijing is challenging so being close to subway is very important.
  Has no issue with wifi either.
  The two BR suite we got only have beds for three people, it works out for us but you should check with the hotel if you need more beds. I believe they offer interconnected one BR suites as well.

• Not worth the price and facilities

  The front desk staff is rude and our check in took one hour.We took two one bedroom apartments.The kitchen hadcooking range,kettle and microwave but no utensils to cook.We opted for this hotel for its closeness to forbidden city, shopping malls and to cook our own food as we are vegetarians.After our repeated requests,they showed us one two bedroom apartment which had utensils.But they said the booking can be changed by booking.com only.I called them and they refusedsaying that hotel policy doesnt allow.After their refusal.the hotel people also refused and said that we should pay CNY1170 more,as we had only kept our lugguage in the rooms.When we asked why have they kept the cooking range,their answer was....you friends can chit chat.OMG
  Never in my life will I use booking .com and this hotel ever.
  One thing more,the hotel allows two couples to stay in two bedroom apartment unlike it is shown on booking.com...three adults and one child.
  wifi doesn't work in rooms.furniture is old.

  The hotel is well located not far from a shopping mall, but it is a very old.. apartments are not well equipped, kitchen does not hold any cutleries or glasses. Internet connection does not work at all.. staffs are not very nice.
