Super Location, very comfortable
Reesesmate
Orlando | Oct 10, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesHotel has a great location, very convenient to walking out in the shopping district. Service is absolutely superb! Rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable. All is immaculate! The only criticism is the food. Served us stale cake and the Waldorf salad is far different from what we think it should be in NY! Other food is mediocre, although breakfast was very good.

The best hotel I've ever stayed
Yao L
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | Oct 6, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThis hotel is more than great. As soon as I stepped in this hotel, I felt I was treated like a VIP. The staff in this hotel are very professional and well trained. They took care of me and I don't even need to think or plan anything. They have already done for me. Especially my personal concierge agent Paola, she walked me through every detail of my room and introduced this hotel to me. Besides, she was eager to know my plan in Beijing in order to offer her best help. After hearing I would have a guest visit in the afternoon, she offered my an afternoon tea package (which is priced around ¥300) for free! A very nice touch. I will definitely come back.

Cairns Region, Australia | Sep 15, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessOne of the best stays I had had, fantastic rooms, fully featured with coffee machine, executive desk, lounge area, pillow menu, great WiFi, large bath with TV, exceptional service and attention to detail. Idea location.

Mixed feelings, lacks magic
Davidwjb
Aug 23, 2025Waldorf Astoria is a mythical name it is like the Jaguar of hotels: so we had high expectations.
And we were disappointed. I would say bitterly at first but the managers did their best to make it up. Maybe we were unlucky?
- Service tries hard but is not proactive, and their English is sketchy.
- Food is just Ok and there are few choices within the hotel. Room service portions may be too small.
- more often then not food arrived cold
- Why does a luxury hotel need to push Italian specialty water for margins?
- Gym is small
- electronic system break down : doors, room automation not reliable
- I may be a snob but some of the guests were rude (loud, spitting, etc.)
- internet speed is abysmal
On the plus side
+ high level staff did everything they could to address our complaints
+ design, lighting, and the artwork is beautiful imo
+ hotel is not too big
+ small but nice pool, massage
+ high tea is nice
+ breakfast buffet variety
Sadly I will not return. Ultimately I think this place has potential but still... -
Great Stay in the Hutong Studio
bjnomads
Beijing, China | Aug 22, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWe had a very pleasant stay in one of the Hutong Studios in the Waldorf Beijing. The studios are located in a purpose built compounds in the back of the Waldorf in the traditional siheyuan (courtyard) style with a private entrance. The room is a large 100 m^2 layout with a very comfortable bed, a sitting area with a comfortable couch and armchair, an office area, and a large and luxurious, large bathroom and dressing area. The decoration is of a more modern style, but with nice simple tones and high quality furnishings, with a few Chinese touches throughout. Plenty of amenities, including a Nespresso machine, a selection of loose Chinese teas, a well equipped minibar, and many bathroom amenities. We tried out the spa and had an excellent full body massage in a well decorated, private setting within the main building. We also had an opportunity to have afternoon tea , with lots of delicious Chinese and Western mignardises and treats. Prior to dinner we had cocktails and canapes, the Waldorf cocktail being an excellent mix of bourbon and absinthe and accompanied by delicious things like tuna tartare and watermelon, and some Asian shrimp. We had dinner in the Chinese restaurant, Zijin Mansion, which offered a nice range of well executed Chinese dishes, including a delicious sauteed black cod , a nice mushroom soup, Japanese eggplant and pork in a soy based sauce, to name a few of the dishes. Breakfast was quite good, with a range of a la carte dishes combined with a buffet of fresh fruit, yogurt, cold cuts and salmon, Western options such as sausages, bacon and Asian options like dim sum, fried rice, fish cakes, spring rolls and sauteed dishes. The omelette was very well executed with nice flavors, and the eggs benedict was also quite good, as was the lemongrass infused Indonesian noodles. There are also plenty of fresh juices available and coffee/tea. Service was standard-setting throughout- we were well taken care of by our concierge Charlie, as well as every member of staff who proactively sought to help us out wherever we were. Location is well situated for shopping in the Wangfujing area and close to the Forbidden City as well. In all, a very luxurious stay and definitely recommend a stay in the hutong studio.
