Montreal, Canada | May 18, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesClose to the subway, it is a good place to stay long time in Beijing.
The room with window are good, clean every day, plenty of hot water, the aircon. was clean and functional. There is a lot of good restaurant around.
The reception staff is a bit confuse with foreigner they do not understand well english.
So the meaning of N.E. Hotel is None English Hotel but they are helpful when they understand. -
The only real Chinese hotel to stay in , when you are stopping in Beijing

Qingdao, China | Dec 30, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesBrilliant hotel, clean, excellent service and a wonderful location. Rooms are very clean and well presented with good beds, heating and good internet access. The desk and support staff are wonderful at doing what you need when you need it. In my opinion there is no better hotel in Beijing and I have stopped in a few others.

You can definitely do better

Canberra, Australia | Nov 19, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe phrase 'looks can be deceiving' has never been more appropriate. The photos of the hotel on the website are spectacularly flattering. However, in reality, the hotel itself is dark, dated and much less appealing. The beds are large, but very hard - which, to be fair, is to be expected in many parts of China. Prepare for some sore nights of sleep if you are not fond of hard beds. The bathroom in our room was just passable, but certainly not pleasant. If you are particularly hygiene-conciouss, you should look elsewhere. A lack of windows in many rooms (at least ours) means very little light and poor ventilation. That being said, I would not go as far to say that this is the worst place I have stayed in. There are some amazing 'hole-in-the-wall' restaurants in the neighbouring street. Also, the staff were polite and willingly helpful. Yes, the woman at the desk does not speak english, but if this is the worst problem you encounter in your trip to China, consider yourself lucky. If you cannot handle language barriers, you are probably travelling in the wrong country. Additionally, if you can manage to find the place on your first attempt, you deserve a medal. We wandered aimlessly in the hutong for almost 2 hours before desperately seeking the aid of a kind store owner, who, after almost another hour of research and phone calls, deduced the location. During winter the prices are low and may warrant consideration. However, I cannot see myself returning here in a hurry.

California | Oct 2, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelBE warned! do not go to this "hotel". i was being very generous in calling this place a hotel. if you read this review and continue to book the place, you stay at your own peril. the place is a nightmare in every sense of the word. it was impossible to find. the picture has either been altered or taken during the time before the stone age. i made the mistake of staying at this place last year and it was a nightmare. i scarcely know where to start. it has mold, dirty sheets, trash, filthy floors and dirty toilets. no internet or working a/c. try staying here during 100 degrees farenheit with 80% humidity. good times! the only way this place has a chance of survival is based on people pre-booking and getting stuck there because there is no chance of a refund. yes, i was one of those sad tourist that booked based on photos and fake reviews. i can't imagine anyone insane enough to rate this place higher than a minus 5. good luck in finding anyone to speak english or provide anything resembling service. i have visited cleaner labor camps. if you think i am exaggerating, feel free to try it out for yourself. :-)

Don't bother

Toronto | Sep 24, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesI booked this hotel for one night only and that was the right decision. It's pretty inside the main hall, but our room was tiny and very old. We had mold on the walls and I didn't want to touch anything. I've stayed at other hutong-type hotels in Beijing for the same price but they were much better inside.
