I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Cozy little hotel in a quiet side street
    Guido G
Helsinki, Finland | Sep 28, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travel

This was my second stay and even better than the first one.
This 10-room hotel in a tiny side street is very clean, well maintained, quiet, and has atmosphere. I especially like to all natural decoration and furniture and the large tree overshadowing most of the building. If you come during the dry and warm season, take the (only) room on the upper floor, with direct access to the roof terrace, it is worth the price, if it is in your budget range.
Staff is friendly and helpful, speaks English reasonably well. Just a small hint, if you need breakfast fast in the morning, order the previous evening.
The nearby streets are popular with local and foreign tourists alike, especially in the evening: many small shops, bars, and restaurants.

  • Friendly service and old time experience.

Service was very friendly and free bike helped exploring the area. Hotel took us back to old time. I enjoyed it very much. Location is great. We also enjoyed walked around in the early morning and checked out small market.

  • Perfect!

I stayed at the Hutongren Courtyard Hotel while in Beijing to cover the World Track & Field Championships. I loved every second of my stay and cannot say enough about how welcoming all of the staff are, Bella and Susan in particular.
I stayed in the room up on the roof - small, but very comfortable and with space to sit outside and relax. If you're looking for room service, a wide screen TV and every comfort of a chain hotel, go somewhere else. But if you enjoy a hotel with charm, character and a cat named Oreo who drinks out of the fish bowl and will visit your room, then this is the place for you.
The hutong at the end of the alley has got to be the busiest street in the country, lined with shops selling all kinds of unnecessary food and souvenirs. It's a fun and crazy experience; but even though it is very close to the hotel, you will hear no noise or disturbance.
Very close are all kinds of restaurants and bars - I enjoyed the Guitar Bar, just a couple of minutes walk away - and the Wiggly Jiggly Cafe and Bar; and the metro station is about a 10 minute walk.
I would go back to the Hutongren Courtyard just to hang out and drink coffee with Bella and Susan; but, I recommend it highly whatever the reason for your visit to China. - James

  • Small Hotel with a Great Location, Mingle with the Local
    Budinunu
Jakarta, Indonesia | Aug 17, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travel

This hotel is small and located in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Beijing city, located in one of Beijing's historic hutong Nan Luogo Xiang, the two times I visited Beijing but I think it's best that I get accommodation in Beijing. I stayed in four dormitory rooms, quite comfortable with a private shower room in the room. I like the design of this small hotel, unfortunately I do not have time to drink tea classes.

  • Cute hostel in great location
    63anthonyk
Sydney, Australia | Jul 29, 2025 | Trip type: Family

Simple rooms in an oasis, just off the track from a crazy hutong tourist lane. Staff were really helpful and the rooms were clean and cool, with nice common spaces to relax. There are plenty of shopping, eating and transport options close by.

Additional Information about Hutongren Courtyard Hotel Beijing

    • Nestled in a very small, easily-overlooked side alley north of storied Xiao Ju’er Hutong, this charming little tea-theme hotel offers a quiet, well-lit retreat from the bustle of the middle of everything. A handful of rooms-double from RMB 600 and single from RMB 480 – surround a stone-floored atrium filled with plants, natural light, books in various languages, wi-fi and a small bar. All rooms are equipped with super comfortable King Koil Mattresses, traditional furniture, air conditioners and under-ground heating. You will be warmly welcomed by the lovely staff and little Blackie. The unique Chinese Tea experience (free Tea classes are given everyday by reservation in advance), relative peace and quiet you’ll find here after a long day is worth it.
