Great duplex rooms at an affordable rate
hyahoney
London, United Kingdom | Sep 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI stayed at the ARIVA for two nights at a business rate of 600RMB per night including breakfast, in a duplex room on the twelfth floor. There is a supermarket and gym onsite, although I did not use these.
Pros:
1. Large, spacious room on two levels
2. Great shower with strong water pressure
3. Separate living and bed room spaces, with desk for work travel
4. Free fast WiFi
5. Good breakfast with large choice of Chinese and Western options
6. Good on-site Japanese restaurant
7. Quiet
8. Close to Suzhou Jie subway station
Cons:
1. Staff don't speak great English, which can make things tricky
2. Far from central Beijing (45-60 min subway journey)
3. Not much atmosphere.
I would recommend the hotel and would stay here again myself for business in the area. -
Quality hotel

Melbourne, Australia | Sep 25, 2025I stayed at Ariva for 9 nights in September 2015. Rooms are amazing, two levels of pure opulence. Very, very spacious.
I like to stay active so I was pleased to be able to use the hotel's nice indoor pool, gymnasium, sauna & Steam room. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every day and had the buffet lunch one day as well. The room service was pretty good but quite pricey.
The only downside was the cost of the dry cleaning / laundry service ($6/US or $10AUD for 1 x business shirt). However most hotels are very expensive for this. We found a cheap little dry cleaner next door to the hotel anyway.
The staff are very lovely and helpful. I would definitely stay here again! -
With a little help...

Phoenix, Arizona | Sep 14, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessI stayed at this hotel in September 2015 and could almost give it a good rating but the current condition does not deserve it. The location is good if you want to be near the university and the summer palace though quite a distance from the cbd. Honestly the subway is so easy to navigate in Beijing that distance really isn't an issue. The restaurant had a decent breakfast available with Chinese and western option. The view out of the room was beautiful if you are facing fragrant hills area. The two story floor plan is pretty cool and results in a large room for a good price. Housekeeping did a good job, they brought fresh fruit and water bottles to the room daily which was nice. There is a television on both floors but if you only speak English you will probably just leave them off.
On the downside, the hotel rooms are in need of updating, the tile in the shower was dirty or mildewed, the carpeting is ready to be replaced, and my desk chair was falling apart. The shower is located on the first floor of the unit and the bed is on the second which is inconvenient. There is a bath upstairs but you can't shower up there. The key cards do not work very well and when you ask the front desk they will tell you to try again. The service at the front desk is good however if you don't speak Chinese you will find it very difficult to communicate. Finally, the guy running the little convenience store in the lobby didn't want to be bothered.
The worst part of my stay was the bed. When I say the bed was hard, do not underestimate my words. The bed was like sleeping on plywood covered by a sheet. They really need to invest in some beds before you stay here. -
A very good one in Beijing

Attappady, Kerala | Sep 12, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesVery good room with all basic facilities and more. Toilet a bit small. WiFi working fine.
Couldn't test their wired internet as had no cable. Kettle was there with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Electrical outlets plenty. Free buffet breakfast was fabulous with so many oriental and western items. The only problem was reception, they have only English in mandarin which is squarely incomprehensible. -
Excellent Views and Swimming Pool

uk | Sep 5, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyI stayed at this hotel from 18th - 31st August with my husband and 2 Children (13 and 8 yrs) I chose this hotel as it could house a family of 4 in its apartment rooms and because it had a swimming pool. The hotel is out of the centre of Beijing but not far by cab or metro to Summer Palace. Our room on 16th floor had stunning views towards the mountains and Summer Palace. The room had two floors with amazing double height windows, we had a bed that could comfortably sleep 3 and a roll out bed downstairs in the living area. It also had 2 bathrooms, and 2 televisions and a work station / desk. It was plenty big enough for the family. The bed was very hard, but nobody had any problems sleeping. Location: The hotel is 3 min walk from Suziou (spelled wrong) station and 6 mins from Bagou. Next to Bagou station is the Wanliu Shopping Centre with plenty of shops, restaurants and ATMs. In the basement is a large supermarket, where we bought our food and drink for the day, and saved a fortune. There were few westerners in this area of town, so we drew attention wherever we were, but we never felt unsafe, even walking back from the Metro at 11 o'clock at night. The hotel swimming pool is excellent, again with stunning views to the mountains and summer palace, but do remember to take a swimming hat with you (although you can buy them from the hotel shop) We didn't have breakfast included in our room rate, but we bought croissants and pain au chocolate from teh supermarket up the road for a fraction of the cost of buying a hotel breakfast for the whole family. It is true the hotel staff do not speak much English, but I never found it a problem. The hotel sent cakes to the room for both my and my daughter's birthday which fell during our stay, which was a lovely touch.
I agree that cleanliness is not up to the standards or some hotels, but this is things like vacuuming around the edge of the carpets as well as the areas that can be seen. Some of the plaster / finishing was cracked in the bathroom, but not enough to moan about. We were staying for the World Athletics Championships and were able to get back between morning and evening sessions for a rest and swim. It was 20 mins by metro to the Olympic Park and about 45 to Wangfujing Street / Pearl Market / Silk Market. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
