Excellent Service
szelam
Hong Kong, China | Sep 14, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe reason I stayed in this hotel was because I had a summer program in Peking University this summer.
The location was very good for me to enter into university campus with just showing my room card, very fast walking to the destination and at the same time, enjoying view of campus.
Also, the environment in the hotel was very comfortable, clean room, clean toilet, very nice big bed, also wifi was very fast.
Especially, the service provided was in very high-class quality, on the first day, I was confused about the location of my classroom in the campus, and the staff was very helpful to help me to find the location and also gave me proper instruction on it. When I wanted to go to popular attraction or buy daily-life stuff, the staff was also very helpful in location finding.
And afterall, on my birthday that day, the hotel manager sent me a big birthday cake to my room, it was very touching.
On the day I left hotel, manager and staff helped me to call a very nice van which I did not demand to before, to send me to the airport, and said goodbye to me. Overall, I would say that the service provided was very excellent.
Last but not least, I enjoyed extremely high level of privacy in this hotel.
Although, you need to walk quite far, to the subway, I mean two,or three streets, but you can conveniently take bus or call taxi just outside the hotel, if you want to go out eating, you can take a bus to Wudaokou. You can also just walk to summer palace or even Tsinghua university.
Thank you, this hotel definitely played an important role on my wonderful beijing study trip. Next time, I will definitely visit this hotel again, when I have a chance to go to Peking University again. -
Great location for PKU
Tim T
Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom | Sep 4, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe hotel is owned by PKU and is conveniently located near the East Gate to the campus. My room was good - spacious and comfortable - efficient Wi-Fi etc. I found the breakfast a little be less good than comparable Chinese hotels - supposed to be available til 10 but don't bother going in after 09.30! Limited gym, but the pool is nice.

Convenient for visiting Peking or Tsinghua University
md2010
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | Aug 15, 2025I was visiting Peking University and the hotel was very conveniently located. I cannot comment on the value for money because my expenses were paid by my host but I believe it is rather expensive. The breakfast is standard for Chinese hotels, not bad. I had dinner at the Grill one night and the service was very slow and the food not very good. The room was large and comfortable, with a great bed. Overall not a bad place but really the only reason to stay is if one is visiting one of the nearby universities.

Best luxury option for visitors to Peking or TsingHua Universities
owhatfun
singapore | Mar 26, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe Business room we were upgraded to was beautiful and huge, staff were very helpful and competent. There was a reception staff who spoke perfect English but most of the staff do not. The Spa, gym, pool (swim cap is compulsory) & steam room etc was good, with traditional massage specialist that fixed my knee (for RMB600). Close to the universities and branch of best Peking duck QuanJuDe 全聚德 restaurant is just 5 mins away. Good taxi service and subway stop ( just 5 mins walk. Generally decent self contained accomodation for a few days working trip. Taxi's won't know the English name or chinese name of the hotel, so tell them to go towards the Peking University East Gate Subway Station 北京大学东门站 and then give them directions to the hotel from there. Once you pass the big FOUNDER building on your right, the hotel will be on your left about 3 buildings down.
The hot water in the bathroom wasn't very hot and the bathrooms had a few fixtures that needed upgrading. Location is bad if you have to go into Beijing city or want to visit all the key sites or restaurants in Beijing - traffic is bad so it takes 40 mins each way. It's also not really walking distance to the universities because of the traffic, pollution and sprawling grounds. -
Very far from 5* Hotel...
marietto4ka
London, United Kingdom | Mar 15, 2025 | Trip type: Business1. No one speaks almost any English and not really making any effort to. At all times, we could not communicate and get things sorted, they simply don't understand you. You order one thing, they give you something else (especially, in the restaurant or in the SPA).
2. Location. Was quite far from the city centre, about an hour on the metro/car and the area wasn't that great, although quite close to Old Summer Palace and Tsingua University.
3. The food was very monotonous, again the service was bad, we couldn't get a coffee/milk/etc. They take the order and forget about it until you remind them again and again.
On a good side it was really nice of them to bring a Birthday cake, which was unexpected but nice.
Also they were trying to be accommodating, as we complained about the construction and refurbishment work in the neighbouring room, which started at 7am, so they moved us to another room and brought some fruits to apologise, so again it was nice of them.
Overall, okay, but irritating at times and not great. Room to improve, especially the language.
