  I had a great stay @ the Crowne Plaza. You enter the building via the Spacious and Modern reception, but unlike certain hotels the Reception represents the rest of the hotel's interior. The rooms are very spacious, clean and have a broad view over the city.
  Although at certain days I couldn't see much due to the fog, but this off course this has nothing to do with the hotel. The bathroom was enormous compared to a lot of other hotels, it was equipped with a bath and separate shower.
  The breakfast was a feast, with a lot of choice between european and asian food. The freshly prepared noodles for breakfast are highly recommended.
  Apart from the big shopping centre nearby, there aren't any touristy attractions in the area. The neighbourhood is in my opinion not really an ideal location for tourist, but if you stay there as a tourist the hotel has quick taxi call service and there is a subway at walking distance.

  Checked in last night 1AM after two hours flight delay. Checkin process is longer than I expected. My IHG info is not in system so I have to come down to get the new room assignment as I am a platinum member, a upgrade which is nice but they could do it before hand. Room smells a little funky and old.
  Breakfast buffet only has limited selections. The large dish plates are only on one side so if you are on the wrong side of the room, you have to go to the other side to get the plates, come back get what you want....not very convenient.

  Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Crowne Plaza Zhongguancan on business. Rooms are very spacious, with large bathrooms and rain shower style shower heads that are awesome. Ask for a room that faces the street if you wish to have a view, as the backside of the hotel faces a number of apartment buildings. Traffic is constant thing in Beijing, so hard to avoid that noise. The 1st level restaurant has simply marvelous breakfasts which come with the room fee. The buffet style choices are good for Westerners who may struggle with Chinese breakfast options. There was always fresh fruit, yogurt, healthy choices, croissants and rolls, and make to order eggs with bacon and sausage, along with many Chinese items. Try the Chinese crepes which are made to order with chili paste. They were excellent. You can also get coffee to go which is convenient. Lunch also provides burger, fish, and mainstream options for less adventurous eaters. There is a traditional Chinese restaurant on level 2 which is good also, although less Western options. It's family style and I enjoyed the beef & peppers, sweet & sour pork, Szechuan style green beans, and Chinese style yams. There is also an Italian style restaurant on third floor with decent pasta and pizza. Average wine list in both yet some good options. There is a lobby bar you can get a beer or cocktail at as well. The fitness center is small but adequate, with free weights and 2 elliptical and 3 treadmills, and a few weight machines. Could be crowded in mornings so plan accordingly. Cold bottled water provided. Fitness center also has a very nice pool which seemed unused most of time yet very nice, and a sauna and steam room.
  About 6 blocks from the Crowne Plaza is a major shopping area, with a Starbucks for those that have that craving, and lots of eating and shopping options. Worth venturing over to see. There is also a subway station 3 blocks from the hotel as well.
  Hotel staff speaks enough English that communication was easy, and I found it easy to navigate the neighborhood without my translator. This area has universities and IT commerce near by, although is a not necessarily close to any of the tourist sites other than the Beijing Zoo. Traffic is a way of life in Beijing so plan ahead. I used the laundry service for two times, and it was prompt and good, but found a laundry down he street much cheaper and used that instead with next day service. Overall a very nice property and I would stay there again,

  This hotel is ideal if you are going to visit northwest part of Beijing for business (most likely you are in IT industry). It's not close to any touristy place, nor is it close to any common attraction, but it is a nice, comfortable, higher end business hotel. I will definitely recommend you stay here if you fit my description above.
