I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Great Hotel Near Botanical Gardens

If you are palnning to stay and visit the Beijing Botanical Gardens, this is a nice hotel to stay. The lobby, grounds and rooms are very nice, well appointed. The buffet is decent, not the best or worst I have had. Our biggest problem was the lack of people who can speak any English. Our toilet plugged and I talked with six people to see if I could get a plunger. I did not know the word for plunger in Chinese. They finally sent a person to see what the problem was and got me a plumber to fix it. Same went for asking for coffee, orange juice, or even tea! It was an adventure, but I would go back.

  • It's a maze
    TravellerfromMO
St. Louis, MO, USA | Nov 26, 2025 | Trip type: Business

I stayed here for three days for a meeting. The taxi driver had a difficult time finding the hotel although I gave him directions written in Chinese and a map. He had to stop twice in the town outside the hotel to ask for directions and reversed course once. Finally, we went up a street and the lighted sign at the top of the street was obvious. It felt like a compound with a guarded gate at the entrance. I arrived after midnight and the room I was given seemed miles from the entrance. It was a real maze to find the room and I found myself turned around several times during the stay trying to find the right turns. I eventually discovered other elevators and a shorter path. It was July and the room was stifling when I arrived. It took all night for the air conditioning to work but once it got there, the temperature stayed mostly acceptable, but I would estimate in the high 70s. The bed was reasonably comfortable by Western standards. The bathroom was large with a bathtub and a walk-in shower room. The grounds were nice and the entrance and halls were all spotless and shiny. The breakfast was extensive, though mostly Chinese fare that I couldn't identify sometimes. But, they had a grill that fried eggs and ham every morning. There was a juice machine with several kinds of juice, including Kiwi I think. And brewed coffee was available. There were other restaurants in the hotel but I never used any of them. Next to the lobby buffet dining was a separate lounge area, open to the lobby. They served only 3-4 kinds of beer. The wait staff couldn't speak English so pictures or pointing at the menu were the method to use. It's located in the far Northwest part of Beijing, nearby the Fragrant Hill park, and fairly close to the Botanical Gardens. It's actually closer to the Great Wall also than downtown. But, downtown is a very, very long drive with the unbelievable traffic.

  • Luxury nestled at the foot of Fragrant Hills
    Worlds_of_Wonder
San Francisco, CA | Jan 5, 2026 | Trip type: Business

This hotel is a beautiful property located within 20-30 minutes from the entrance to the foot of Fragrant Hills. The grounds feel relaxing, as the posted pictures show, and the rooms, lobby, and hotel grounds have a luxurious appearance and feel. Service is functional, albeit not friendly, and housekeeping was fine. The breakfast buffet that came with my room was ample and tasty, though the food choices are definitely oriented towards Chinese travelers. Transportation to the hotel can be a bear because traffic clogs up all of the Fragrant Hills area on the weekend so do give yourself extra time to get to/leave the hotel if you go on a weekend. As for a restaurant, I strongly recommend Xiao Diao Li Tang (小吊梨汤) which is about 10 minutes by foot.

  • Pretty but...
    ChutzpahUK
Hampton, United Kingdom | Sep 13, 2025 | Trip type: Business

For a local, this is no doubt a lovely out-of-town escape hotel. For a foreign visitor, it leaves much to be desired.
Plus points: bedroom comfortable, clean, well-kept; location - pretty
    Minus points:
    location: way out of town, a long way from anything except the Fragrant Hill park and the Summer Palace;
Food: pretty bad! the buffet restaurant food is pretty tasteless, dull, boring, cold and congealed
A la carte not much better.
Service: try hard, but no good English speakers on the staff (at least not that I found).
They want cash for everything apart from accommodation, unless you put a cash deposit with reception (a few thousand RMB). I gave a credit card as deposit but this didn't get entered on the system, so I was constantly being given bills and asked to pay cash, not sign.
Lovely swimming pool, large for a hotel, but the locker rooms are dirty, run-down and neglected.
