  Joy City Hotel in Beijing is by far the most impressed hotel I have ever stayed in this capital city. The hotel is established and run in a very practical manner, accommodating tenants with just adequate needs without extravagant waste. This respects and meets environmental protection! Then one amazingly enjoys quiet environment amidst the centre of this extremely busy and crowded city. Another thing one must praise the hotel management is their wisest decision on selecting this location. In Xi Dan, this is exactly the utopia or paradise for joy, entertainment and convenience, from traveling, sightseeing, shopping to dining. One must not neglect the importance of Xi Dan that it greatly relaxes the pressure of the employees after daily killing working in the Financial Street, adjacent to Xi Dan. This is just the most ideal "should be" combination between Xi Dan and Financial Street. And Joy City Hotel erected itself appropriately in this region to serve all visitors, travelers, workers, residents and passers by.

  The hotel is conveniently located in the financial area of Beijing. Not too far from the forbidden city ad literally close to Joy City Mall; Pacific Mall and Galeries Lafayette Beijing. That said it makes a good destination for shopping lovers too. The room was quite large but nevertheless it shows it is a pretty old building and strongly believe that the rooms need to be renovated. Good wi fi service and decent breakfast with a pretty wide offer of chinese and international food. People at the reception are below the expactations and they don't easily speak chinese.

  I once gave up Minzu to try this hotel but found it was just so so. Not enough warm could be felt during the stay. Staff not many. Rooms are just ok but below my high expectation. I booked five nights but the next morning I checked out and moved back to my familiar Minzu Hotel.

  Very nice hotel, good surrounding (especially for shopping). Close to metro stations, with good connections to the whole Beijing area. Also close to the several points of interest. A reasonable price for the services provided.

  The hotel is in a great location for seeing tianamen square, temples etc. and the lobby looks nice but the room we had was absolutely filthy. There was dust on every surface, the carpets riddled with cigarette burns and stains, as was the bed base, and the bathroom was just covered in grime. Even the toilet seat hadn't been cleaned. Also, the hoitel concierge tried to rip us off quoting almost double the going rate for a car to see the great wall. If you're willing to pay a bit extra, go stay at a real hotel chain and don't bother subjecting yourself to a dirty room at joycity. All in all, location was great but hotel itself was very poorly managed and needs a compelete overhall and new cleaning staff or better training. The WiFi also barely worked in the room, but this is common everywhere in China I've been.
