Amazing

Oct 14, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesLuxurious, 5 star and great service. The place is amazing and it's only a few minutes walk to a great area with shops and restaurants. The King rooms are amazing with a huge ensuite bathroom that's the same size as the bedroom area. Just an amazing experience. A lot of foreign travellers tend to stay here.

Whole of Beijing is behind them!
LeeCK
Singapore, Singapore | Oct 11, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyI had totally no idea what i was getting ourselves into when I booked us at this hotel for 7 nights mid September. This trip is indeed THE HIGHLIGHT for the year. Being my very first trip to China with parents, couldn't have chosen a better hotel!
I visited this hotel a few years back to meet some friends. But the tour of the hotel i had didn't leave any impact on me, I left the hotel only remembering it is the tallest building in Beijing.
The check-in process took a little longer than expected but that didn't bother us as staff was obviously busy. I later found out the affluent Chinese (there must be many millions of them in this country) like to stay in luxury hotels on weekends. During busy times like this, lounge area comes in handy. Drink orders taken, we were in time for the afternoon tea, served complimentary daily for in-house guests only. My only grouse, this lounge is dry, so don't expect your martinis or gin & tonics here.
Rooms
This hotel must have the largest standard rooms in the city! i can only think of the Ritz-Carlton hotels in Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong having rooms like this one. Similarities are tall buildings thus offering panoramic views, impressive bathrooms and amenities. Summit Wing's amenities includes L'Occitane and Nespresso Coffee machines, I love the showers this hotel has, god knows how much water it takes to have that shower that feels like waterfall!
Breakfast
This must be the best buffet spread i have seen in years! It offers a buffet spread that is almost obscenely excessive! But if you are charging top dollars, where else but in China than to offer it? It offers fresh fruit juices, fresh bakeries, chinese dim sums. To top it off, an a-la-carte menu for main dishes. One is able to order, Singaporean Laksa (!!!), Malaysian Nasi Lemak (Coconut rice) and Chinese noodle in clear soup, and the usual suspects like eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles and eggs cooked in several styles. Similar to what I have experienced at Siam Kempinski Bangkok.
Location
This hotel sits next to the other Shangri-La managed hotels in Beijing. Think China World = Shangri-La Land. Kerry Hotel, Traders Beijing, China World are all within walking distance. There is construction close to the hotel, which will add another hotel to the area. But the construction works do not in any way affect our stay at all. Except that the ugly cranes appear in all my photos of the city taken from my room.
The underground shops are dotted along the underground pass which leads to subway lines of 1 and 10, many sites and places of interest are accessible from the subway. Beijing has one of the best subway coverage in the world. It is the best option to counter the notorious traffic jam, just avoiding riding it during peak hours. Hence, it is in a VERY strategic location.
I have also noticed the English language proficiency level is above the city's other hotels. So this is an added advantage as one would expected it from a hotel of this class.
This hotel is truly a gem. Won't hesitate to recommend it. -
Almost 5*...just a couple of touches away!

Reading, United Kingdom | Oct 10, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelMake no mistake this hotel is phenomenal. I had arranged an airport pick up and was collected by a beautiful smiling young lady who, despite not having good English, communicated me through the bag collection and passport check to my car.
At the hotel I had already been checked in and was taken straight to my room with amenities discussed as we went. From the start the service offered was top notch, the staff cannot do enough for visitors.
The gym is good, the pool is great fully equipped with steam/sauna room and ice bath. Special note to Martin and Michael (I think?!) from the Atmosphere bar as well as the female manager whose name escapes me for the excellent, individual service given to me over the course of my four night stay. Again, the view from that bar overlooking Beijing is breathtaking.
So why not a full 5 stars? Well, when a hotel is set up so lavishly I expect everything to be first class. Sadly I found a couple of niggling points. The room service food was never hot and I strongly suspect it isn't fresh due to the speed at which it is delivered. Housekeeping was inconsistent in terms of whether my fruit was refreshed daily and on check out the lady, whilst helpful, did not give a personal service. I wasn't asked if I enjoyed my stay for example.
Overall I strongly, without reservation recommend this hotel and would happily return. -
Convenient location next to the mall

Oct 6, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesMy husband and I stayed at the Shangri-la work summit wing in Beijing during our trip to China last May/June. The hotel is located in the down town area. It occupies several floors of the highest building in Beijing.
Upon entering the latest lower lobby, you are submerged in the signature smell of shangri-la, which is really lovely.
The higher lobby is ok, it feels a little business-y. The rooms are quite nice, relatively modern. It may not be the trendiest hotel, but it is pleasant nonetheless.
What is convenient is the mall right next to it, they are actually connected. It is a luxury mall, so really lovely to walk in it for window shopping, or eat at one of the restaurants. Overall I liked the hotel. -
Coolest Hotel

Jakarta, Indonesia | Oct 6, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesWell, This is the hotel that suit all of my Great Criteria.
Started with the high rise tower where we got a Great scenery from the Lobby Hotel.
Once we arrived at the lobby we were greeted by smiling staffs, and the Hotel Receptionist was very kind to offer a Suite upgrade with a cost.
We took the extra cost and it was worthed. The Room was spacious, with great 180 degree of the Shanghai CCTV view. From the other side we can get the park view.
Bathroom was very nice, we can watch TV for news while brushing our teeth.
The Jacuzzi was very cool and had breathtaking view.
In the morning during our breakfast, the restaurant was very nice. The restaurant was classy, the clientele was well behaved, even the guest small kids were all
The only negative thing is ... L'Occitane Amenities, which I would expect something better from this place.
