  The hotel is modern, clean and features all you need for a short business trip. The rooms are spacious, the internet and WiFi works well and small meeting rooms are available. Great alternative for those who are on a short business tip and not looking for a luxury hotel. Very good value for what you pay!

  In case you are looking for good value for money, Tangram Beijing is your place. Rooms are comfortable, clean and rather large. Limited Restaurants as one one available which is open all day. Breakfast rather limited and could be improved.

  We stayed here on two different occasions, each time for one night. The rooms were really spacious, trendy, clean had everything most travellers would need. The hotel was in a good location we thought easy taxi to airport and also easy taxi to Tian'men square, Wangjing shopping area. We got some light meals from the restaurant which were ok for us. The snack machines on each floor were handy too and easy using room swipe thing to buy the snacks rather than having change. The staff were pleasant enough and some seemed better at English than others, the hardest thing was trying to convey we wanted three separate beds as there were three of us, in the end we just shared the queen and had a rollaway bed and as it was for just a night it was ok. The wifi was a little slow but seemed better downstairs in the lobby/lounge area which was nice enough to hang out for a bit.

  We're really enjoying our stay.
  Much has been written here about Tangram's great value for money and prime location, so no need for more, except to say that this really is a happening neighbourhood!
  Think of Tangram as a hotel version of what the airlines call premium economy. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.
  Fun and functional sum up the room experience.
  Loved the funky red "welcome wall" with our room number on it.
  Excellent lighting at the bathroom mirror and the press/squeeze soap dispensers at the hand basin and in the shower were thoughtful and no doubt infinitely practical for housekeeping.
  Huge windows flooded the room with natural light and the four-and-a-half-foot high indoor terrace/balcony that ran the width of the room made for a nice spot to sit with a coffee (morning) or beer (afternoon) and watch Beijing buzzing by below.
  Note for the GM if you're reading:
  Have your maintenance people take a look at the grouting seal around the inside of the shower stall in our room.
  And have your people in the lobby keep a better watch on the driveway.
  We had to move the velvet rope out of the way to drive the car up.
  Sure, not a big thing, but a simple gesture like that could improve the arrival experience.
  So there you go. Tangram - highly recommend. Like I said, there's lots to love!

• Great location, basic rooms and accommodating staff

  The Tangram is in a great location and within walking distance to the Sanlitun Bar Street, the Embassies and other great eateries. Unfortunately, not many taxi drivers knew where it was located and were willing to bring us back to the hotel... Just keep it in mind and try not to get too frustrated, especially if you are visiting without knowing any of the local language. (You're the visitor.)
  The Tangram does provide small maps with both English and Mandarin directions and the staff will try to help you with their limited English - ask them to draw a map. This usually helps, but we found the majority of taxi drivers lazy and unwilling to help foreign travelers.
  The rooms were quite basic and it provided the essentials for their target market. This is an efficiency, 4-star business hotel and that is what you can expect from it. Please note that there is not a mini fridge or a safe in the room... you can leave your passport with the front desk, if you'd like. We stayed for 5 days and found that it was convenient for us. It is right off the Airport Expressway and can get you to the International terminal within 30 minutes. (No traffic)
  Also, there is cold beer in the vending machine for 15 RMB and also, the coffee downstairs is fantastic! I'd skip the breakfast...
