Great "hutong" - Chinese cultural street/alley experience
Steven C
Virginia Beach, Virginia | Nov 13, 2025The place is clean with traditional Chinese courtyard decor; the room was comfortable and nice. For breakfast, they serve many kinds of fresh Chinese food and boiled eggs, bread & cereals. It is located in a "hutong" or Chinese street/alley, so it's very interesting. The area is great for shopping like a local; and get to learn everyday Chinese culture in real life!

Nice courtyard

Nov 11, 2025 | Trip type: Solo travelI stayed in a single room, pretty small, but perfect for one person. The room was nice and comfortable, very Chinese style decoration. The courtyard is pretty and it does give you the feeling of being in an old Beijing siheyuan. The hutong to the hotel is quiet and nice to walk.
Breakfast is also good :)
The only down part is that the last day I was really sick, I asked for a late check out as I couldn’t move out from the toilet and they insisted for me to leave or pay the whole night for a couple of hours. That was not too nice. Besides, I would recommend it, just don’t get sick on the last day ;) -
Cultural experience

Sep 19, 2025Interesting stay. Quaint small room. Nice courtyard, good breakfast. Staff seem limited at helping. When asked about restaurants they were not very helpful. There is no concierge or tour assistance. Nice area but taxis don't seem to know where they are. Google maps converted to Chinese is helpful.

Beautifully Traditional, but needs better WiFi

Madison, Wisconsin | Jul 24, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyI had seen pictures of the Beijing Sihe Courtyard Hotel and knew that I had to stay there, and I'm glad that I did. The hutong is beautiful, and the VIP room that my family and I stayed in had lovely wooden screen walls and furniture. The bed, with its beautiful orange drapes, was comfortable, although I think that it could have been a bit more dusted. Some of the intricate carving on the bed is a bit broken, but oh well!
The hotel staff brought in an extra bed free of charge, which was a nice gesture. For breakfast, I had eggs and noodles, which was pretty tasty. However, I had hoped that they'd have more options such as dumplings and other things. My main complaint is that the WiFi connection was troublesome. There were four of us, and WiFi worked on only one of our phones. The hotel staff, who were friendly-despite there being a slight language barrier-do arrange transportation to various Beijing sites, which is nice (although my family and I didn't use this service). Overall, I'd give this hutong hotel a 3.5/5, because better WiFi connection and more breakfast options are needed. I would stay here again at least once more. -
Good location to subway

Phoenix, Arizona | Jul 19, 2025When we booked this hotel the website promised airport pickup but when we emailed them our arrival they told us the car was not available and we had to take a taxi without reimbursement. The rooms are all in courtyards with the doors facing outside. Every room is slightly different - ask for a room with a canopy bed. Of the four of us traveling, my room was smallest. It was bitter cold at night (20 F) and the heater in my room made such a loud noise I could not sleep. Was told no other room to switch so they brought me a space heater which took up the limited space in my room but it worked. The room has water bottles and fixings for tea. Breakfast is provided but the food is not labeled so we had no idea what we were eating. The hotel is about a 15 min walk to the subway and about 5 min walk to pedestrian shops and restaurants. We did get the car transfer to the airport, however it was a small car and with 4 of us women and our suitcases it was a very tight squuze. The girls at the front desk speak limited English.
