A Bargain in Luxury in Wudaokou
Cheryl P
Oct 24, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessAre you looking for somewhere to stay in the Wudaokou neighborhood near Tsinghua University? Holiday Inn is new and fantastically luxurious. The staff is friendly and helpful, committed to customer service and are darling young people. It is close to ChengFuLu. I could walk to Wudaokou train station in 15 minutes. The car traffic in Wudaokou is insane. A taxi could take 30 minutes to 3 hours longer to travel the same distance depending on time of day. Easy to walk through East Gate onto Tsinghua campus to meet colleagues.
Did I tell you the best part? For all this luxury and service, they compare VERY competitively to the other options. Meet other business or academic people coming and going. Great for networking....:) -
Better than expected
Washand
Edinburgh, United Kingdom | Sep 28, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessHoliday Inns tend to be middle-range in terms of quality but this hotel was a surprise because the quality of the building interior, rooms and facilities was superior to what I had expected. I would say it was 4-star in western standards and quite impressive. The double room we booked was large, clean and well equipped, having details such as bath robes and an iron and ironing board. As in all Chinese hotels, not enough free bottled water is provided given that the tapwater should not be drunk unless boiled first. So we made daily requests for more and it was supplied. WiFi is free but as everywhere in China, highly censored and very slow.
As regards food, the hotel has 3 restaurants and rather surprisingly, the Indian restaurant was the best in terms of food quality, although don't expect haut cuisine. I suggest you give the Jade Garden Chinese Restaurant a miss as it's expensive and the food is terrible and some dishes are inedible. If you want good Chinese food, you will have to walk for about 20 min (right out the hotel, left at the intersection, right at the first crossroads, keep walking for about 10 min to the next big intersection and turn right or left for a selection of restaurants). Breakfast is worth the cost and quite good with a wide selection of Chinese and Western foods. There is an open-plan bar that stays open until about 11.30 pm.
The service? Well, it's fairly average for China upper-level hotels and many staff do not speak much English. They are however pleased to try and help even if the staff training has clearly been inadequate. When we ate at the Jade Garden, there was no-one else there and the staff asked us to eat faster so they could close early and go home! Not the first time that's happened to me in China and you have to get used to a lack of quality service and hospitality.
If you are tempted to have a massage, be aware that it is outsourced and the masseuse can arrive in high heels and miniskirt.
In summary, I would recommend this hotel including breakfast as good value for money and comfort, but don't expect high quality service from the staff. -
Sehr Gut u. nicht weit von Flughafen.

Sep 24, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessGood hotel with all you need for a short visit in Beijing.
Next to a Metro Station and a Mall with 5D Cinema, food stals and Entertainment areas, as well has very good coffee shops, but expensive ones.
Good breakfast, secure rooms and fast elevators are also worth to mention.
Pleasant staff. Some restaurants in the building too. -
Beautiful hotel in Beijing

Salerno | Sep 13, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesI stayed here for a week in august 2015 and a i had a very good time. The hotel is really amazing, modern, chic and the western touch is very well mixed with the asian one. Executive rooms are big, very clean, with a beautiful incredibly large shower and contemporary chic furnitures. Restaurant offers both asian and western menus, i really appreciated the taste of food, every plate is very well cooked and you have the possibility to eat whenever you want because the restaurant is open all day. Breakfast, both asian and western too, is very rich and various. Restaurant Staff is quite friendly but unfortunately they speak a very poor english so the communication was very difficult. Reception staff speaks english a little bit better, but not so well to help us in some occasions. By the way I have to thank Mr. Artem from the reception and Mr. Snow Sun, the concierge, because of their incredibly kindness! They were hugely helpful everytime we needed something and i have to say they are a precious source for an international hotel like this, for their manners and their perfect english. I highly recommend Holiday Inn Beijing Haidian if you need a place near Universities district or if you arr searching for a place with an international touch, not strictly chinese styled.

Great Service

Beijing Region, China | Sep 7, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyI've stayed here twice now and both times really enjoyed staying in the hotel. Rooms and faculties are five star.
Staff really go out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. If you don't speak Chinese, there is always a staff member around who speaks excellent English and can assist you.
The hotel is very close to the new line 15 subway station (about a block away) - if you need a cab, make a reservation with the staff, especially during morning rush hour and especially if you're traveling a short distance, as Beijing cab drivers prefer larger fares.
I now live in the neighborhood and recommend this hotel to my family and friends when they visit me.
