  Arriving to this hotel around 2:30AM after a long flight, we seemed to disrupt the staff from sleeping which was awkward. Our room was clean enough and the hotel was close enough to everything, which was great. We had a room on the bottom floor, with a window that seemed to look out to the apartment building beside the hotel, where we constantly heard people chatting and spitting. On our last night, it seemed imperative for a group of men to stand around our window and hammer a blue door (that they had leaned up against our window) at 6:30AM. My efforts to ask them nicely to keep quiet were met with laughter and the hotel didn't understand what I was saying. I'm sure you can find a better place to stay.

  Our group stayed in 2 rooms the first night and the smell of the room was awful. It smelled like sewer and smoke. Moreover, the neighboring room was so noisy. The next 5 days, we stayed in another room good for 3 people which was reserved prior to our arrival. The lights were not sufficient for reading, the bathroom fixtures were rusted,a small amount of toilet paper was rationed daily, the bathroom floor was always wet after a shower as the area only had a curtain as a divider and was in the same level as the toilet . They provided toothbrush,soap, and shampoo daily and enough slippers for everyone. It was close to the metro so was convenient and accessible to the different sites-Lama Temple, Forbidden City, Tian-nmen Square, local shops and eating places. We were able to eat with the locals by pointing out what we wanted as all the menus were written in Chinese. Public buses were accessible and cheap. You just have to know where to alight as all the signs are in Chinese characters. During our stay, probably only 2 nights were quiet. We wanted to move out but our reservation was non-refundable. There is a no smoking sign in some areas but you still smell smoke, etc even as you enter the hotel.Staff tried to be helpful but communicating with them was a struggle.Some were better than others.There is a tour agency on site but staffing is bad so we booked our tours somewhere else.

  First of all they even do not try to pretend that they care about customers - we were waiting ages to check in and if not the fact that we have already paid, for sure I would prefer to go and find another hotel. We were given a twin room next to the reception (although we booked a double room, but they could not speak any english at the receptions, we were tired, so finally gave up...), which was very noisy day and night. In the morning (like 7.00am?) they gave someone else a key to our room - fortunatelly I used a door chain as did not feel very secure. Not mention that when we came back in the evening, we found a few call-girls buisness cards, which says a lot about this 'hotel'...

  well it's noisy to say the least. Only stayed here 3 nights as it is in a good area for the forbidden city tiennamen sq etc. The beds were like concrete, the bathroom flooded after each shower, and I wanted to "kill" the inconsiderate staff who never shut up at night, not even talking in hushed voices either! Hotel rooms dated in need of serious upgrade. No wifi.

  Our room was located on the ground floor, right next to the reception (as most of their duble bed rooms are) and had no window. Since there was no sound proofing what so ever between the door and the corridor it sounded like people were standing in our room (though they were standing in the corridor). The room was extremely small, the bed was hard and the water in the shower was either cold or boiling hot... We were also given stained towels that they tried to charge us for when checking out (we refused to pay). I would never stay in this hotel again, and unless you like to have chinese people screaming outside your door at 5 AM in the morning, hard beds and dirt, I don't think you should stay there either...
