Great location with great service
graycat89
Boston, Massachusetts | Sep 10, 2025I read a lot negative reviews after I booked this hotel from another Expedia like travel site and I was nervous. However, the staying in Pudi turned out to be great in that
1. Perfect location which cannot beat by other hotels in the same price range. 7 minutes walk from Beijing Railway Station, 5 minutes walk from Jianguomen Station, which means you have 2 subway lines within 5-7 walk distance.
2. A lot reviews complained about the breakfast buffet. For me it's good enough - various options from traditional Chinese and westernized (but still in Chinese way). This is not Michellin restaurant, so don't expect you get Michelin level of cuisine.
3. Many people mentioned the hotel is too old and needs upgrade. I would say it's definitely not brand new hotel. But it's not that outdated. Huge rooms with nice views. Comfortable beds. The janitor lady who took care of my floor was caring and always willing to provide extra service (not that type of service some people think of) per request.
In summary, unbeatable location, great service, best out of the price you pay. -

Southampton, United Kingdom | Sep 1, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesGood points - comfortable rooms, easy bus access to airport (Beijing Railway Station bus) and metro. Nice little cafe doing local food and pizza etc in entrance area of office building that houses the hotel.
Bad points - WiFi hard to log into, limited English at front desk, pool useless if you don’t have a Chinese head cap (they don’t tell you this on booking sites).
We didn’t try the breakfast. So, a good choice or bad choice, depending on your priorities. -
Great beds and ac.

South Carolina | Jul 15, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThis hotel is clean, safe, has an elevator, and is in a pretty handy location to the Beijing Main Station (10 min walk). The location is not ideal if you want anything for tourists, however; it seems like this hotel is probably more for business travelers. I suppose a benefit to that is that it’s quiet. The room had a fantastic shower, a safe, a mini fridge, a hairdryer, an iron, robes, and it was very clean. Every day when the room was serviced 2 water bottles, tea bags and coffee (for use with electric kettle) were replenished. The hotel has a pool, but we didn’t use it. Breakfast was not included for us. Front desk staff were reluctantly helpful; English is minimally spoken, which is not ideal when you have questions or need guidance.

Amazing service, beautiful hotel, very happy experience

Fairbanks, Alaska | Jun 19, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesBeijing Pudi Hotel is a gorgeous hotel nestled in downtown. I can see why it is a popular place to stay for American government workers- it is a very clean, safe, happy place to stay.
The Concierges speak English and will go out of their way to help you call Chinese Uber, Airport pickup service, taxi, tours, order things on AliExpress, etc.
Our life saver concierge was Angus Zhang- he will take very good care of you and I cannot sing his praises enough. Thankyou so much Angus!!!
I also highly suggest the airport pickup service Beijing Pudi offers - it is around $78 but we travelled in a sleek, tinted window BMW and whooshed right to our hotel- the driver was amazing!
The in-hotel breakfast buffet is a must, though there is a wonderful French-style patisserie on the outside of the hotel block, with a see-through bakery with classically trained bakers too!
Inside the hotel on the ground floor, there is an incredible seafood buffet (very fancy and lavish, a must attend), and in the adjoining corridor a Hong Kong- style cuisine diner with Western food and drinks, a 7/11, and several other eateries.
The room was roomy and had wonderful views of the city when the clouds cleared, the bathroom was clean and shiny. Everyone was polite and helpful, we really could not have found a better place to stay!
There is a foreign money exchange machine in the lobby next to check in, where you can feed USD/etc into it. Take note- it will not read any money with a crease in the middle- if it rejects you'll need to iron your money so it can accept it.
Most of the staff had a thorough command of English, but if you make the effort to at least say hello / thank you and a few other phrases in Chinese it really goes a long way to being friendly.
If you are at a 'tourist trap' location (like Summer Palace, Great Wall, Pearl Market) and you cannot seem to find a taxi that is not a 'black taxi' (illegal), you can call the hotel, and they will send a taxi/Chinese uber to come get you.
You can tell the 'black taxis' because they will try to haggle/badger a lump sum instead of using a meter, or will be driving a personal car, not one of the flavors of officially recognised taxi colors. (yellow brown, yellow blue, etc)
I highly recommend downloading the Microsoft Translator app + installing Chinese and English languages before you go, especially if you plan to explore and take transportation on your own. It can translate offline and we managed to fumble through every train station, taxi ride, restaurant, and social interaction with it.
If you take a powerbank make sure the mAh is clearly stated on it somewhere, otherwise it will be confiscated at Beijing International airport (they confiscate because a lot of black market ones have no safety regulations and can explode/ catch fire) Mine got taken because the writing had rubbed off, no biggie :)
