  Calm small street, but really close to Wangfujing main street and the Subway station. Supermarkets nearby also, at the mall
  Comfortable Rooms and great rate to exchange currency - better than at the AirPort and the same as the official one in Bank of China. Most of staff doesnt speak english well, but they are helpful.
  Sometimes the location on Google and on booking IS INCORRECT. Kept me walking an extra half Hour the first night. It is right beetween Marriott Apartments and the Days Inn, NOT behind Oriental Plaza Mall. Looks fixed now.

  This is not a bad hotel. It is in an excellent location and I found my room/ bed comfortable and clean. There is a bit of traffic noise from the street outside, but nothing more than might be expected from a city centre location. The staff were friendly and were helpful when I arrived early. The wi-fi was a bit hit-and-miss, but I had that trouble in all of my hotels in China. All-in all, I will happily return there.

  First things first, this is a hotel for westerners, sit-down toilets and a fantastic rooftop bar (don't tip) walk out to the right, turn right and right again at the first junction for Wangfuji street and the "eat scorpion on a stick" market, or walk out and go left at the main street then right for Tian'an men square (7 min walk) I've marked it as average because there are friendlier places. but if you don't want to stay i a Hutong, this is the place for you.

  This hotel delivered according to expectations: small, clean room; 24 hour reception (handy for late night international flight arrivals); tour booking office on premises; walking distance to attractions (e.g. Forbidden City, night noodle markets, subway station, convenience store). There is an amazing view from the rooftop - worth choosing this hotel just for this view!
  Detractions: non-smoking room still had smokey waft (can smoke ever be fully eliminated?) and a noisy neighbouring room one night which Reception should have silenced. Overall: slept well, good value.
  (Some confusion regarding name: is it Starway? Or Tianan? Or Tian An? etc). The distinctive tower construction helps you know you're in the right place.

• Centrally Located Hotel in Beijing

  I stayed here in July 2015, the long weekend of July 4th. This hotel is in the central location of Beijing -- everything is within walking distance from this hotel. One can easily walk to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, China Museum of History, Wangfujing, etc. I walked pretty much to different parts of city from here. Also the Tiananmen East train station and Wangfujing train station (Line 1) is only a couple minutes of walk. I took the local trains and bus to go around places, like, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, etc. Also I took Airport Express to go to airport from the hotel. So it is very convenient if you do not have too much luggage. The hotel has a roof-top restaurant -- it provides breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also it has a bar at the roof-top. Right across the street there are lots of shops. Attached to the hotel, there is a couple very nice restaurant/bar -- it has good food. The rooms are neat and clean. They provide wi-fi, it works well in the room and all other area of the hotel. The staff in the front are very friendly and helpful. Some of the staff can speak English -- so it is very helpful. They helped me a lot in planning my tour around Beijing. The rooms may be a bit noisy in the lower floor, but it is fine if you get room in the upper floor. The room has flat TV, and tea maker. Overall it is nice and reasonable hotel in central location of Beijing.
