I will be arriving earlier/later than the stated check-in time. Can I still check in?

Usually this is not a problem; you can arrange for an after-hours check-in with most hotels. However, you should always confirm with the hotel. You can use the "Special Requests" box in the booking process to inform them of your estimated arrival time in writing. It's important to remember that the property can't always accommodate these requests. It's always best to check with the property directly and in advance to avoid confusion. You can contact the hotel directly by calling them, the local telephone number you can get from Nehow's Local Guide after you finish the booking.

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

I want to check out after the stated check-out time. What should I do?

A late check-out can only be arranged with the hotel and usually depends on availability at the time of your stay. You can ask about the possibility at the front desk upon arrival.

  • Excellent stay

Great value. Located somewhat close to the city centre, this hotel had very clean rooms and great service. This hotel is very close to Chegongzhuang subway station for very easy transportation. Although the noise from the nearby freeway can create quite a bit of noise, this hotel is still worth every penny.

This hotel is perfectly located nearby the financial area of Beijing, the rooms are spacious and properly furnished, very good value for the price you pay, the bed is fantastic, I even tried to buy one of their pillows to bring it back home, unfortunately the English of the front desk is not that fluent.

  • For the Chinese Business Traveller

New York | Apr 29, 2025 | Trip type: Business

I stayed at the Grand MetroPark Yuantong Hotel from Monday, April 27, 2025 to Thursday, April 30, 2015.
BUSINESS HOTEL FOR CHINESE BUSINESS PEOPLE – If you are a tourist, this is probably NOT the hotel for you, as it is located in a business district. If you are expecting a “Western standard” five-star hotel, this is probably not the hotel for you (I would recommend the nearby Westin Beijing Financial Street). If you are a Chinese business person, this is probably a great hotel; five-stars by Chinese standards.
NEGATIVES – Air conditioning did not work the entire stay. The room was stuffy all night. It doesn't help to open the window, as the smog makes things worse. Smoking was permitted near elevators of non-smoking floors. Room service woefully inadequate. Dingy and dated decor. Limited English speaking staff.
POSITIVES – Acceptable to my minimum standards. Rate was half of what I am used to paying.
LOCATION – As previously mentioned, the hotel is located in a business district. There are a number of restaurants and convenience stores located within walking distance of the hotel. Additionally, a subway station is located just outside of the hotel.
DOORMEN – Doormen are sometimes available, but not very helpful.
LOBBY / CHECK-IN – The lobby is an escalator ride up from ground level. It is dark, dingy and dated. Front desk staff speak very limited English. Check-in was neither welcoming nor smooth. It took me over 20 minutes to check-in and get some money exchanged. In the confusion, they almost lost USD $100.00. There is limited lounge space in the lobby.
SMOKING VS. NON-SMOKING – While there are non-smoking rooms, smoking is permitted near the elevators on all floors.
ROOMS – There are different quality rooms on different floors. A non-resident Chinese colleague was placed in a lower-quality room. He had to call to have his sheets changed (stains on sheets), and eventually complained enough to have his room upgraded, as he was initially placed on a smoking floor, which started to trigger his asthma. On the 18th floor, the rooms were acceptable.
BATHROOM – The bathroom was dated but clean. Urine/rust mark on the toilet seat. Tile slightly molded (pink) in shower. Toiletries acceptable (shampoo, conditioner, body gel, toothbrushes, shaving set, combs, shower caps, sewing kit, sanitary bag). Shower featured wand and rainshower head (which leaked). Bathtub. Vanity mirror. No bar soap for shower, only bar hand soap. No lotion. Two towels, hand towels and washcloths. Rough tissues and toilet paper.
BED – Some small holes in the sheets. Mattress and pillows were acceptable.
IN-ROOM AMENITIES – Teapot, ice bucket, service equipment (plates, glasses, etc.). Complimentary Nescafé and green tea. Two complimentary bottles of water per day. USD $9.00 bottle of Evian, as well as mini bar and snack. Mini refrigerator. On days two and three, an apple and pear were provided. Make sure to wash them prior to eating them.
IN-ROOM DINING – Very limited selections. Nobody could speak English well enough to discuss the menu. I ordered “wok fried flat rice noodle with vegetable and seafood”. I received a large plate of noodles, dripping in grease/oil, with three very small shrimp and a sprinkling of vegetables. It was served on a cafeteria tray with chopsticks, a small bar napkin and a toothpick. No salt and pepper, no linen-covered tray, no napkins, no soy sauce, no frills. Very disappointing.
RESTAURANTS – Breakfast buffet was nothing to write home about. There were a lot of selections, but the food was bland and “there”. Difficult to get anyone to understand I don’t eat pork and that I didn’t want my eggs cooked along with the bacon.
WORKOUT FACILITIES – A few treadmills and weight machines located in the stairwell of the 18th and 19th floors.
IN-ROOM INTERNET – Easy connection, and when it worked, was decent. No charge.
TV – Most of the channels are Chinese. HBO, CNN, Bloomberg and one or two other English channels.
    PLUGS – CAT-5 cable. Converters.
AIR CONDITIONING – Did not work. Did not work, AT ALL. The windows do open, so you can cool the room down with smog-filled air, if you so choose.
CLOSET – In closet safe, two robes, two slippers, one shoe shine cloth. Evacuation kit (smoke mask plus flashlight). Two umbrellas.
When you are travelling on business, convenience comes first. This place didn't make my cut.

  • Very nice hotel in Beijing
    Carlo G
London, United Kingdom | Apr 18, 2025 | Trip type: Family

The Grand metro park is a perfect hotel to stay in Beijing. it's not really cheap, but it's worth it. the hotel is located a few step from the underground stop Chegongzhuan, there are also few coffee shops and small supermarkets (like 7 eleven) very close. the normal guest room is very comfortable, with an amazing very big bed, your own desk, fridge-bar, tv with international channels and a very nice bathroom .the decor in the room is very stylish and it make you feel at home at the same time. we have also been eaten in the hotel's restaurant, and the food was very pleasant. the staff is friendly and they speak english. very recommended place to stay.

  • Decent Location for a decent price
    GerSchi4U
Utrechtse Heuvelrug, The Netherlands | Feb 6, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getaway

This hotel is located at the crossing of two important subway lines; ideal to get in and out the centre quickly. The room was clean and appeared to be recently upgraded. Very nice bathroom with all amenities. The air conditioning was a problem though. We weren't able to get it any cooler than 23 degrees centigrade forcing us to keep the window open at night. With freezing weather and some traffic noise not ideal. Beds were perfect even for pretty tall people. We weren't really thrilled about breakfast but being in the center within 15 minutes with plenty of choice it didn't bother us. Best of it all was the price. A four star hotel for a two star rate. Definitively recommend it.
